School best all-around athlete award from 1956-1958.

He was the district MVP of the football team and was an all-district base-ball player and lettered all four years.

He went on to play bas-ketball at TCU and was an All-Southwest Confer-ence player.

“Thank you for this honor. I really appreciate it,” Reynolds said. “It’s always nice to be back in Waxahachie.”

Stollenwerck graduated from Waxahachie in 1921 and served as captain of the 1920 football team.

He also played baseball, which he eventually came back to town to coach in 1945. He went on to play football at SMU and was an All-Southwest Confer-ence quarterback.

His friend Billy Ray Hancock gave him a stirring introduction and Stollenwerck’s son Henry accepted the award on his behalf.

“He was always embar-rassed to receive accolades like this,” Henry said. “But what he cherished most was being around all the great men he got to compete with and eventu-ally coach.”

Wilemon Jr. graduated from Waxahachie in 1956 and was a star athlete in football, basketball, base-ball and track and field.

He also went on to play football at SMU and played both running back

and safety and was also an All-Southwest Conference player.

Jim McAdams intro-duced Wilemon Jr., and his cousin Dave Wilemon accepted the award on his behalf.

“It’s just such an honor for him and the family,” Dave said. “He is the abso-lute perfect candidate for an honor like this.”

Aldridge made his mark on WHS as a basketball coach, which is the duty he served from 1974-83.

He won more than 800 games in his coaching career and led the men’s basketball team to a state title in 1982.

He has been battling Alzheimer’s disease for the last several years and his
