Schools SpectacularSpecial thanks to the great support of families, commitment and dedication of Mrs Burgess and
Mrs Crawley and great work and passion of our students who last week attended Schools
Spectacular, culminating in matinee and evening performances on both Friday and Saturday. The
Wamberal Team performed as part of a 2800 mass student choir with over 5500 other NSW
public schools students showcasing the very best in performing arts... a spectacular experience
for all.
Schools Spectacular will be broadcast on the 7 Network on 7th December from 7pm.
Stang UpdateWe welcome back Mrs Lewis who has been relieving at Copacabana PS for the past term. We
temporarily farewell Mr Du who will be a relieving Assistant Principal at Brooke Avenue Public
School in 2020.
WamblesIt has been a delight to meet and welcome our 2020 Kindergarten students in our weekly
Wambles orientation sessions. This week there are more great experiences for students and an
informative parent session on ‘Helping your child with literacy and numeracy’.
Deputy Principals' Report
AttendanceFamilies are encouraged to travel during school holidays. If travel during school term is
necessary, please discuss this with the principal prior to travel. If parents wish to submit an
Application for Extended Leave, application forms need to be completed and submitted to the
principal for consideration at least ten working days prior to taking leave. Absences relating to
travel contribute to your child’s total absences for the year.
End of Year ReportsTeachers are currently nalising Semester 2 student reports which will be sent home with every
child on Friday 13th December 2019. Student reports provide parents and carers with important
information regarding their child’s academic, social and behavioural achievements. Special
thanks to teachers who have worked diligently over the past several weeks, writing these reports.
Parent Helper Morning TeaThe sta will be hosting a morning tea of appreciation for all parent helpers and Scripture
teachers on Wednesday 11th December 2019 in the library, starting at 11:30 a.m. If you have been
a classroom helper, a canteen volunteer, a scripture teacher or have assisted in any other
capacity, please come along and join us to celebrate our shared achievements this year.
