Administration Block UpdateWe look forward to welcoming you to our new Administration Block which will be open on the rst day

of Term 4. Please see the latest information brochure about our school upgrade later in this newsletter.

to arrive by the end of the school holidays.

Parents and Visitors on School Grounds Before Class TimeFor student safety and social development, we strongly encourage parents to drop students at the gate

have sta on duty from 9:00 a.m. at our Aldinga entrance to welcome students as they enter the

grounds. Playground areas are for student use only and are directly supervised by our school sta.

Term 4 DatesAll students and sta return for Term 4 on Monday 14 October 2019. The last day of Term 4 for students

is Wednesday 18 December 2019.

End of TermAs we come to the end of another term, there is much to reect on and celebrate with regards to the

many achievements of our students, sta, parents and community in the past ten weeks. The range of

sporting, cultural, performance and learning opportunities such as team events, debating, spelling

bees, public speaking, NAIDOC and Education Week celebrations, the Book Week parade, Father’s Day

celebrations, ICAS assessments, excursions, and fundraising events demonstrate our strong school-

family commitment in ensuring the best for our students. Thank you to our sta, our many parent and

volunteer helpers both in and out of the classrooms, and to our families and community who all

continue to foster a vibrant, stimulating and dynamic learning environment for our students. A huge

thank you to all our wonderful students who arrive at school each day full of wonder, enthusiasm and

commitment to achieving their personal best, showing great respect for their school, their teachers,

their parents, each other, and mostly, themselves. Wishing all of our students and families a very

relaxing and enjoyable holiday and we look forward to seeing everyone in Term 4.

Have a wonderful holiday break everyone.

PBLThis week, we are focusing on being safe, respectful learners during wet weather. Teachers will be

rewarding students with SRLs for demonstrating safe, respectful learner behaviour throughout the

week.

Rewards DayThis Thursday is rewards day at Wamberal Public School. Students have traded their SRLs in exchange

for a variety of rewards. Be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook page to see students enjoying their

chosen rewards, including styling a teacher’s hair and having morning tea with the Principal. Thank you

to our P&C who continue to support our Positive Behaviour for Learning programs through sponsorship

of prizes for the lucky draw held on Rewards Day.

School Holiday Road Safety Reminder for FamiliesWith the school holidays approaching, daily routines will soon change. Dierent play locations and

holiday destinations means dierent trac environments. So to help keep our children safe, families

are reminded about these key road safety points:

Stop, look, listen, think every time you cross the road.

If your child is aged 8 years or younger hold their hand when walking near or across roads. If your child

is 9-10 years old always actively supervise them.

It’s the law that everyone wears a helmet when riding a bike in a public place.

It makes sense to wear a helmet when riding scooters and skateboards too!

Click clack front ‘n back every person for every trip.

Everyone in the car must be securely buckled up in the right seatbelt or child restraint.

Talk to your child about being a safe road user.

Reinforce safe road behaviours by being a good role model! Children learn safe road behaviours from

the adults who care for them. Talk about what you are doing to be safe when near roads, in the car and

when riding.

Point out road safety dierences and dangers in new environments.

This is especially important when on holidays in dierent surroundings. Roads, footpaths, parks,

carparks, bike tracks and bike lanes may look dierent in holiday areas.

The best way to keep your child safe is to actively supervise them.

Talk and teach your child about road safety every time you are out an about.

Remind other adults who care for your children to do this too.

ChessCongratulations to the chess team and Mr Foyel . The chess team travelled to Wyong High School on the

12th September to participate in the 25th Annual Central Coast Primary and Secondary Schools

Competition.

This is a massive event that includes over 200 players from all over the coast. Each team member played

7 games with varying results. However, the team represented the school admirably and had a great day.

We would like to thank the parents that supported the event and transported children and to Mr Foyel

for organising the day.
