    HISTORY OF THE PROJECT

    In March 2004, DP Worldsuccessfully bid to take over theoperations of Rajiv Gandhi

    Container Terminal (RGCT) and todevelop (ICTT).

    So India Gateway Terminal Pvt. Ltd.

    (IGT), was formed for this purposewith an equity holding of 76% byDP World, 15% by ContainerCorporation of India (CONCOR), 5%b Chakiat and 4% b Transworld

    On 16 February 2005, Dubai Ports Worldofficially announced that it signed theagreement with CoPT to do the projectwith an estimate of 2400 crores.

    One of the best examples of a public-private partnership.

    It is on a BOT basis with DP Worldoperating it for 30 years.

    The project is completed in three

    The first phase opened on 11theFeb2011.

    It will have a quay length of 600mts, and draft more than 15 mts.Can handle 1 million TEU container.
