What is a Learning Activity Wizard (LAW)?

• LAWs are online tools that you can use to create re-usable, interactive multimedia activities

• The Wizard part means youfollow a step by step guideto create your activities

• You don’t need flash programming skills to make web-ready quizzes, graphs, photo viewers and puzzles

Some important tips about saving

– Download the activities to a safe place where you can find and use them

– Create a new folder for each new activity (Note: all the files need to be to kept together)

– Import the zip file into a separate Moodle folder, then unzip inside Moodle

Sharing an activity with your students

– Burn onto a CD (go to TaLe and search for “Build a Resource Collection” for assistance)

– Add to Moodle, Sakai or Janison– Use with an Interactive Whiteboard– ???

What now?

– Look at the LAW samples– Choose one you like– Make an activity– Test it to see it works the way you want– Use it with your students
