buttontocompletethesignupprocess.Youwillthenreceiveaconfirmationemail,alongwithnextstepsforsettingupyourEdmodoaccount.

StudentSignUpBeforeastudentcancreateanEdmodoaccount,theywillneeda6-digitgroupcodefrom

theirteacher.Oncetheyhaveagroupcode,theycaneasilycreatetheiraccountbyvisiting

Edmodo.comandselectingImaStudent.

Thefirstfieldofthesignupformwillaskforthegroupcode.Thestudentwillthenneedto

createauniqueusernameandpassword,andprovidetheirname. Anemailaddressisnotrequiredforstudentsignup.

Oncethefieldsarecomplete,selectsignuptocompletethesignupprocess.

AccountSettings

FromtheSettingspage,youcansignuptoreceivenotifications,controlyourprivacy

optionsandmanageyourprofileinformation.TheviewyourSettingspage,selecttheAccountdrop-downarrowlocatedintheupperright-handcornerofyourEdmodohomepage.Inthedrop-downmenu,selecttheSettingsoption.Fromhereyoucan:

Set/changeyourprofilephotoChoosetouploadaphotofromyourcomputer,orselectfromoneofourstylizedicons.

EdityourpersonalinformationAddtooredityourname,emailaddressandtitle. ChangeyourPassword SpecifyyourschoolSelectaschooltobeassociatedwithorchangeyourexistingschool.Ifyouareloggedinthroughaschool/districtsubdomain,youwillneedthe

schoolcodetoswitchtoadifferentschool. SetnotificationsClickonthenotificationsdrop-downmenutochoosefromemailortextnotifications.EmailnotificationswillbesenttotheemailaddressassociatedwithyourEdmodoaccount.Ifyouselecttextnotifications,enteryour10-digitphonenumberandselectyourcurrentmobileprovider.Youwillneedtoverifyyour

ParentAccounts

Parentaccountsareagreatwaytokeepparentsinformedofclassroomactivities,assignments,gradesandschoolevents.Theregistrationprocessforparentsissimilarto

studentregistration,withoneadditionalsecuritymeasureeachparentwillneedtheirownuniqueparentcodetoregister.Thisistoensurethatparentscanonlyinteractwith

theteacherandtheirstudent/child.

Withintheparentaccounthomepage,aparentcanseedirectmessagesbetweentheir

studentandhis/herteacher(s),anymessagespostedbytheteacherthataremarkedpublicandanymessagestheteacherhassenttotheparentsofthegroup.

IfaparenthasmultiplestudentsonEdmodo,theycanaddadditionalstudentstotheirEdmodoaccountbyclickingontheAddbuttonontheleftpanel,intheStudentsection.

Theparentalsohastheoptiontofiltermessagesbyindividualstudent,byclickingonthestudentsnamefromtheleftpanel.

Fromtherightpanelaparentcanviewtheirstudentsnotificationsandalistoftheirteachers.

u CalendarWithinthecalendar(locatedonthetopnavigationmenu),aparentcanseealloftheir

studentsevents,duedates,andassignments.Theycanfiltertoseeasinglechildscalendarbyselectingthechildsnamefromthedropdownmenulocatedatthetoprightcornerof

thecalendar.Toscrollthroughothermonths,selecttheforwardandbackwardarrowsin

theupperleftcornerofthecalendar.

u GradesFromthegradespage,aparentcanseeallassignmentsgiventotheirstudent.Theycanfilterbetweentheirstudentsgroupsfromtheleftnavigationpanel.

Selectingtheassignmenttitlewillbringtheparenttothestudentsassignmentandallows

themtoviewallcommentsbetweentheirstudentandtheteacher.

Eachassignmentwilleitherhaveagrade,adash(foramissingassignment),N/A(foranassignmentgiventosomestudentsintheclassbutnotothersfordifferentiation),or

waiting(foraturned-inassignmentthattheteacherstillneedstograde).Atthebottomofthegradespage,youwillfindthetotalpointsforthestudentandthetotalpointspossiblefortheclass.

uSettingsFromthesettingspage,parentscansignupforemailortextnotificationsthatwillalert

themtoanyassignments,directmessagesoralertsfromteachers.Parentscanalsoupload

aprofilephotoorselectanEdmodoicontorepresenttheiraccount,andchangetheiremail

Toaccesstheaccountsettingspage,selectthedownarrowlocatednexttotheAccount

GROUPS

CreateaGroup

Groupsmakeiteasyforstudentstocommunicateandcollaboratewithoneanother.Tocreateagroup,selectthecreatelinkintheleftpanelofyourEdmodohomepage.

Apopupwindowwillappearwhereyoucannameyourgroupandprovidethedetailsofyourgroup(gradeandsubjectarea).Onceyourdetailsarecomplete,clickthecreate

buttonandEdmodowilldisplaya6-digitgroupcode.Thisistheinvitationcodeyouwill

needtoprovideyourstudentswithtoenablethemtojoinyourgroup.Yourgroupwillnowappearintheleft-handnavigationbarofyourhomepage.

IfanyofyourstudentsalreadyhaveanEdmodoaccount,theycanjoinyourgroupby

loggingin,clickingthejoinlinkontheleftpanel,andenteringthedesignated6-digit

groupcode.

Onceanewmemberhasjoinedyourgroup,youwillbealertedinyournotificationssection.Note:Itisbestpracticetolockorresetyourgroupscodeafterallstudentshavejoinedsothatnoadditionaluserscanusethiscodetogainaccess.

ManageYourGroups

Tomanageagroup,selectthedesiredgroupfromtheleftpanelofyourEdmodohomepage.

TherightpanelofyourEdmodohomepagewilldisplaythe6-digitgroupcodeandthe

groupmanagementoptions.

u Lock/ResetSelectthedropdownarrowtotherightofthegroupcodetoresetorlockthecode.The

resetoptionwillgenerateanew6-digitgroupcode.Thelockoptionwilllockthegroup,so

thatnoothermemberscanjoin.

o Changethegroupsdesignatedgradelevelandsubjectmattero Archivethegroup-Attheendoftheclass,semesteroryear,youmaywanttoarchiveyourgroups.Thisrendersthegroupinactive,butstillallowsyouto

viewallcommunicationsfromthatgroup.(Note:Ifyouwanttoreusethenameofagroup,makesuretorenametheexistinggroupbeforearchivingit.)

o DeletethegroupYoualsohavetheoptiontodeletethegroup.ThiswillpermanentlydeletethegroupandallitscontentsfromEdmodo.

u ManageMembersTomanagethemembersofyourgroup,selecttheManagelinklocatedintheMemberssectionofyourEdmodohomepage(ontherightpanel).

Ontherightpanelyouwillseetheoptiontosetallmemberstoread-onlystatus,downloadallparentcodesandviewwhohasrecentlyjoiningthegroup.

Byselectingamemberofthegroup,youwillbeabletotakethefollowingactionsfromtherightpanel:

selecttheManagelinkfromtheMemberssectionontherightpanelofyourEdmodohomepage.

OnceyouareontheManageMemberspage,selecttheCreateSmallGrouplinkontheleftsideofthepage.Enterasmallgroupname,andclickCreate

Yoursmallgroupisnowcreated.Thenextstepistoaddmemberstoyoursmallgroup.

Bydefault,thegroupsownerandanyco-teachersofthegroupwillbemembersofthe

smallgroup.FromtheAvailableMemberslist,selectanymembersthatyouwouldlikeinthesmallgroup.(Tip:youcanselectmultiplemembersatoncebyholdingtheCtrlkey,or

arangeofmembersbyholdingtheShiftkeyandclicking.)

Clickthe>>buttontoputtheselectedavailablemembersintoyournewsmallgroup.

ThesememberswillbenotifiedbyanEdmodosystemmessagethatyouhaveaddedthemtothesmallgroup.

Co-Teaching

AteachercaneasilyshareanEdmodogroupwithanotherteacherbygivingthemco-teacheraccess.Withco-teacheraccess,theotherteacher(s)canhelpgradeassignments,

monitordiscussions,andmanagemembers.

Toestablishaco-teacherforyourgroup:

o Invitetheco-teachertothegroupwiththesame6-digitgroupcodeusedtoinvitestudents

o Oncetheco-teacherhasjoined,gothememberssectionontherightpanelandselecttheManagelink

Onceateacherhasbeengivenco-teacheraccess,theywillhaveallthefunctionalitythatthe

groupownerhasexceptfortheabilitytoarchiveordeleteagroup,upgradeanotherteachertoco-teacherstatusandremovethegroupscreatorfromthegroup.

FromtheNotificationssection,co-teacherscanalsoviewstudentshomeworksubmissions.

Thenotificationissyncedonbothteachershomepages,soifateachergradesanassignment,theco-teachersnotificationforthatassignmentwilldisappear.

PublicPagesEachgroupyoucreateincludesapublicpagethatsaccessiblebyselectingthepublicpage

linkontherightpanelofyourEdmodohomepage.SelectingthepublicpagelinkwillautomaticallyopenupanewtabinyourbrowserwiththegroupsuniqueURL,andwill

displayanypostsfromthegroupthataremarkedpublic.

Pleasenotethatbydefault,everythingpostedinyour

Edmodogroupisprivate,andonlythemembersofthegroupareabletoviewitscontents.However,thepublicpagegivesteacherstheoptiontoshareEdmodoposts

withawideraudienceonacase-by-casebasis,includingparentswhohaveanaccountonEdmodo.

Tomakeapostwithinyourgroupvisiblefromthepublicpage,selectthepubliclinklocatedunderneathan

individualpost.Bymarkingthepostpublic,thepostisnowvisiblefromthegroupspublicpage,andfromany

TeacherscanaddanRSSfeedtoanyoftheirgroups.ThiscouldbeanRSSfeedfromablog,orsitessuchas

YouTubeorFlickr,andwillallowyoutoautomaticallypostvideo,photosorcontenttoagroup.

Tobegin,choosethegroupnamefromtheleftpanelandselecttheSubscribeGrouptoFeedlinkfrom

rightpanel(locatedunderthegroupcode).Youwill

betakentoyourRSSfeedpage,whichwilldisplayanyRSSfeedsthegroupiscurrentlysubscribedto.

Toaddanewfeed,selecttheAddaFeedbuttonat

thetoprightcornerofthepage.Apopupboxwill

appearthatwillpromptyoutoentertheURLtotheRSSfeed.CopythefeedURLandselectsubscribe.You
