What is Edmodo?• An online learning community where students

and teachers can: communicate, share ideas, files and assignments…in the classroom, at home, and wherever there is internet access!

Why Use Edodo?• Edmodo is a program that caters to the 21st century interdisciplinary themes, within the new NJCCS , that

need to be incorporated into the core subjects.

– It supplies RSS feeds where students can access and discuss issues of global awareness, civic

literacy, financial, economic, business and entrepreneurial literacy, health and environmental

literacy.

• The program is learner-centered and focuses on the main skills of 21 century:

– Creativity

– Critical thinking

– Communication

– Collaboration

• It is free, safe and it puts these skills to work, even when class is dismissed!

How Do I Use Edmodo?• Edomo is easy to learn,

especially for users who are familiar with social networking sites, such as Facebook.

• To begin, simply visit www.edmodo.com

• To begin creating your own account, click on “I’m a Teacher” and fill in the brief sign-up questions.

Edmodo: Your ProfileClick on “Settings” to personalize and manage your account

Create an Online Classroom Click on “Create” to create a group of your own for your class

Edmodo: Personalizing and Managing a Group• By creating a group, you are providing a safe place for students in your class to communicate

with you and with each other – inside, or outside of your classroom!

To set-up your group:-Have your students create a Edmodo account and provide for them the “code” that is assigned to your group

-To manage the settings and members of your group:- Drag your mouse over the group name, click and follow the easy-to-use directions.

Other Edmodo functions:

Share links, feeds, files, assignments or create polls to share with your students by using these functions!

Type a note to your students that they can respond to!

Use the Calendar feature to keep track of due dates and other important dates!

Connect with other educators!

Use the Gradebook to insert the grades of students so they can access their progress online!
