Getting Started: Create an Account

• Type this in any web browser’s address bar: www.edmodo.com

• Click the “I’m a Teacher” button on your screen.

• Fill in the fields with your:– School Code– Title– First and Last Name– Email and Password

Day 1: 1. Frequently Used Buttons

Refreshes your page and takes you back to the main screen.

Add important dates to a calendar. View upcoming assignment due dates.

Add grades and view who has turned in assignments

Upload important documents, videos, pictures, etc. Can work with Google Docs.

Multimedia teaching tools. Sort apps by subject.

2. Groups

• Groups are sections in your Edmodo that are assigned a different class.

• To create a group, click “Create” at the top of the Groups section.

• When you click on a group, you can begin creating content for that class.

• Give your group a color by clicking

directly on the square by the name.

3. Communities

• Communities are ways that you can connect to people in your same subject area.

• When you sign up, you’re automatically added to Aiken County’s community and the community for your school.

• Click “Browse” to search more communities related to you.

Day 2: 4. Posting OptionsNotes are used to tell the students something important or to start a discussion amongst students with a prompt. Students can reply to Notes that you post

4. Posting OptionsAlerts are short, urgent notices. They are sent to all groups and messages have to be less than 140 characters. You cannot create attachments to alerts.

4. Posting OptionsAssignments are created to leave a position in the grade book and to give students a button to “Turn In” and upload work. The grade book will tell you when a student turned in an assignment.

4. Posting OptionsQuizzes are only multiple choice. You can create one from scratch or load one that you’ve made previously.

4. Posting OptionsPolls are created by putting a question in the larger field and putting options or “answers” in the smaller fields. Click “Add Answer” to have more than one. All poll answers are anonymous.

5. GroupingFolders are from your library. You can upload e-text books to these folders in your library and check that students are allowed to access that folder. They may also add to the folders as well.

5. GroupingMembers are where you can see your students per class. You can click on the student to view more options. You can also click the print button to print all parent codes to send out at the beginning of the year.

5. GroupingSelected Members allows you to quickly view progress, profiles, student codes. It also allows you to change passwords, award badges, or remove a student from the group.

5. GroupingSmall groups are used when you want students to discuss things as a group, but not the entire class. This is good for large projects.

6. NotificationsNotifications are alerts that tell you when you or a student has done something that needs your attention. This can include upcoming events, turned in assignments, posts that need moderation, etc.

7. Profile and AccountProfile is how you tell others what your page is about from visiting. You can see your connections and what others see when they come to your page.
