PharmacoEconomics & Outcomes News 402 - 8 Mar 2003 The US FDA received a programme level budget of $US1.64 billion when the US President signed the FY2003 Omnibus Appropriation Bill in February this year, representing a 21% increase compared with the FY2002 omnibus. The legislation will provide the FDA’s generic drugs programme with an additional $US5.3 million, while the improvement of patient protection against medical errors involving FDA- regulated drugs, medical devices and biologicals will also receive $US5 million.
