We were asked to design a big house for a family of six members in this incredible lot overlooking the city of Monterrey. With old trees in the area the house was designed around the biggest trees. Big walls detaches the house from the ground respecting nature and leaving great absorption area by allowing water to pass by freely. The internal gardens provide light and natural ventilation to all the house.
Located in Olinalá, the intervention lot has a steep slope and when it rains it gets a fairly amount of water running through. It is full of greenery, big trees and overlooks the city of Monterrey with some really mesmerizing views.

With the intention of relating the plaza with its rich and historical background we decided to make of this place a time capsule, where by walking through it, you could feel and learn about the history of Zacatecas and the plaza itself. Following the radial configuration of this irregular plaza we decided to work this project in a tridimensional way, where we digged different levels in time and space. By adding 360 digital view scopes that will project the different eras of this plaza and the city, this square will become a new attraction for this beautiful colonial city. new attraction for this beautiful colonial city.
Located in Zacatecas downtown, next to the Old Temple of St. Augustin and three blocks away from the Zacatecas Cathedral this square lacks of spirit and urban presence.

Design a profitable corporate building with office spaces of 500 or 1,000 m2. To provide more flexibility in the office spaces the structure is placed outside of the building leaving the interiors free and flexible to suit all types of layouts. Parking is solved using half levels to optimize square meters of construction. The circulation and service spaces of the building are in the east and west facade to protect from sunlight .
Located in a complex of buildings, the property has all the facilities and a great location. To the South it has great views of the Sierra Madre, to the West of the Cerro de la Silla and to the East of the Huasteca Mountains.

The project was to restore the historical building Madereria la Victoria, which is a building with a very clear arts nouveau influence. With a brutalist approach for the restoration, the main focus of the project was to conserve the existing structures and create a school with large public an recreational areas for the community.
Located in front of a Historical Avenue that used to be a linear park in the fifties, the property is now surrounded of old stores. Over the years this neighborhood was abandoned because it had became a purely commercial area. From there the insecurity started and today it is one of the most dangerous zones in Monterrey.

Make a proposal to transform the public space where the Multifamily Housing Benito Juarez used to be before the 1985 earthquake damaged it and had to be demolished. It had to include housing, retail and office spaces.
Located on the property that housed the Multifamily Housing Development Benito Juarez by the great modernist architect Mario Pani, this lot has important avenues surrounding it, access to Mexico City's subway and it's close to schools, shops, health facilities and more.

With the intention of respecting the original complex we derived a grid based on the original
buildings, which seeks to optimize the sunlight and existing natural ventilations.
The transition between the two properties that divide the site is achieved through a set of
staggered squares that form a plaza. These spaces provide accommodation to various small
and intimate spaces that will work in an dynamic matter where there will always be life,
movement and interaction.
AA memorial is proposed in the center of the complex. Four monumental murals with the work
of Carlos Merida, which work was present in this development, will now rise where four iconic
buildings used to be. The intervention intends to bring life back to this place and evolve with
this new spatial experience.

Through a study of OXXOs, the largest convenience store chain in Monterrey we identified the areas of the city that had urban life and movement. We located an abandoned stream that had no life and major social economical clashes along its trajectory. With the idea of regenerating the area, we propose a linear park connecting all neighborhoods by creating a direct relation between the city's public and private spaces.
Located in an old district by the Monterrey's Institute of Technology there's a dried and abandoned stream, our intervention takes place along this stream, which is surrounded by housing , warehouses, schools and commerce.

OXXO’S IMPACT RADIUS INTERVENTION DISTRICTS
We began to study the city and how it works, it was decided to take a look at how OXXO, the biggest convenience store chain saw it. The analysis was made by the number of stores and their location with a 400m impact radius, this dictated the most critical points of the city and their relations with the city itself.
Monterrey is a defragmented city, with a very evident and divided social structure. The city is designed for the car, and lacks of an efficient public transport. Our proposal intends to connect the city and its habi-tants. From there it was decided to do some punctual interventions in four of the main zones near downtown.

Throughout this dry stream there are large parks, with many public and private abandoned properties. By analyzing OXXO we realized that this area is in-active, it has no urban life, it’s insecure and only divides the communities bedside it. By bursting the concrete in the canal we propose to bring nature back to this water way with a linear park and bike path that connects the different districts with community centers and new residential developments.

In collaboration with Patricio Martinez1st PLACE - Project/Presentation
In this studio/finance class the goal was to create a realistic project of a mixed use building and incorporate all the specialties to achieve an optimal design, a financial plan, and marketing & branding proposals. We focused on designing a building that could really connect to the site and the city.
Situated at the bottom of one of the most exploited mountains in Monterrey the property is conformed generally of a very uniform and soft soil. It's industrial context has a very promising urban sprawl and it's growing and developing rapidly. It has incredible views of the city and it has great access and proximity to the best districts.

CALIZA BRANDING
noun..A common sedimentary rock consisting mostly of calcium carbonate, CaCO3, used as a building stone and in the manufacture of lime, carbon dioxide, and cement.
In a very competitive market I decided to create an identity that would connect the building to the city, the site and its future inhabitants. Something totally new that would distinguish this project immediately, and position it on the top of the current offers.
CALIZA (LIMESTONE)
IDENTITY
The logo is inspired by the abstraction of the layers found and organized within the limestone on the zone.
