Troubleshooter for making applications via db.com/careers General hints

No special characters can be used for the name of a file (for example for the cover letter and

resume). Keep the name of the document short.

It is recommended to upload attachments as pdf. The length of the file name must not exceed 30

characters.

If you forgot to attach your cover letter and you have already applied for the job you have two

options: You can add the cover letter as an attachment under My Career Tools. The downside is that

the cover letter is then displayed in all applications. Otherwise you can withdraw your application

and reapply if the job is still published.

If you saved your application as draft and want to edit it later on, you cannot modify your resume.

Delete the draft and reapply.

Old resumes and cover letters which are displayed under the "My Career Tools" page cannot be

deleted. You can upload a new CV and resume once you apply for a new job.

If you fill in a value in the field of the previous school/university/industry sector click on the

magnifying glass and get no results, leave the value field blank, click on the magnifying glass and

select a value from the list. Note that this information is voluntary.

If you cannot find your school, university of previous industry sector in the list of available values,

search for “Other(s)” and then enter the value manually. Note that this information is voluntary.

You have to enter your previous work experience in a sequential order, which is stated by the field

“Employment Sequence #”. Note that this information is voluntary.

Only the questionnaire and the referral source section are mandatory. Every other information that

you are asked to provide in the application process is voluntary.
