About Us…

We are three early years professionals: Denise Hulme, Deborah Sutton and Mary Lestrange who have a diverse wealth of skills and experience in inspection, childcare, education, mentoring & management. We can offer training, support and advice to leaders and practitioners in promoting excellent quality childcare. In 2014, Claire Taylor joined our team as Administrator to help ‘behind the scenes’ with bookings, accounts and paperwork.

About our Courses…

Each of our courses are developed with reflection on the requirements of the EYFS, Ofsted guidelines, recent research and relevant legislation – this has been particularly important with all the recent updates in guidelines, but rest assured all our courses have been revised to reflect these changes. Each of our wide range of courses offer practical hands on activities & ideas, notes, relevant handouts, action plan, evaluation, and a certificate.

How do our courses help? • They are affordable • They are practical sessions where delegates take ideas back to the setting • We have very knowledgeable and approachable trainers • They support and evidence staff CPD • They improve practice • They improve children’s progress and wellbeing • They promote better outcomes at Ofsted inspection • They provide free audits and tools • They are tailored to early years settings • They meet the legal requirements of the EYFS & have up to date information • They help you measure impact

If there is a course or topic you are interested in but it’s not in the calendar – let us know, we have over 50 courses we can deliver, and we are always adding more. We adapt and arrange our calendars for you and your needs, so if there’s something you want to see or learn more about – send us a message to [email protected]

EIF 2019 Summary of new Educational Inspection Framework All our courses have been updated in line with the new EIF

• Judgement categories have been revised and will now be: Quality of Education (biggest focus), Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management and Overall Effectiveness

• Ofsted will call to announce an inspection the day before they arrive • Reduced focus on data, particularly internal progress data • Curriculum (EYFS) will be at the heart of the new framework • Now considered – how well staff can read aloud and tell stories to children and how well staff encourage children to sing

songs, nursery rhymes and musical games

Don’t forget… Staff qualifications, training, support and skills. [EYFS 2017 pg. 21: 3.20] ‘Providers must support staff to undertake appropriate training and professional development opportunities to ensure they offer quality learning and development experiences for children that continually improves.’

Terms & Conditions • Course bookings can be made by telephone, emailing [email protected] or online via our website. • Payment is required 2 weeks prior to the course delivery date. • A booking is considered CONFIRMED upon receipt of a proforma invoice. • Substitution to the original delegate can be made at any time, by informing Q4EY of the change of name. • Transfer to another course must be requested at least 2 weeks prior to the course delivery date. • Cancellations made more than 2 weeks before the course delivery date incur no charge. • Cancellations made within 2 weeks are charged at full cost. • We reserve the right to cancel a course and refund payment in full if numbers of delegates are low. • In unforeseen or extreme circumstances where training is cancelled on the last minute/imminently before the start by Q4EY, a full

With Guest Speaker: Sharon Skade Opportunity for Change, are you making the most of Physical Development?

With a background in sports coaching, devising and delivering physical activity programmes for

families in Stockport, Sharon became aware of a gap in the provision within nurseries and

Children’s Centre’s regarding the awareness of the important role and positive impact of Physical

Development in all areas of a child’s learning and development. In order to understand more fully

the theories involved in child development, to complement her coaching qualifications, Sharon

completed a BA Degree in Childhood Studies passing with First Class Honours. This has enabled Sharon to design appropriate

bespoke training and development opportunities for a multi-agency early years workforce, which has been featured in Nursery

World as a model which can be replicated and has shown great impact. Sharon is passionate about changing lives through

physically active play and inspires colleagues across Greater Manchester with her interactive early year’s physical activity

training sessions and CPD opportunities.

Sharon’s vision is to have Physical Development Champions in all Early Years environments, creating opportunities for children

to choose to be physically active and empowering practitioners to promote physical development and understand how it is the

bedrock of all learning
