Dear Parishioners of Mary Star of the Sea,

God so loved the world that He sent his only Son, not to condemn the world but to save it. This is the precious message of Christmas to each and every soul on earth. You and I participate in this wondrous gift from God every Christmas and in fact every day. Jesus, the babe in Bethlehem, has come to save our souls and to bring us the Christmas joy here on earth and for all eternity. If we wish to participate in this joy both on earth and in eternity we must receive the Christ Child like Mary and Joseph, with open arms and open hearts. Let us open the manger of our hearts in this Holy Season so the Christ Child can save us both now and for all eternity. Thank you all once again for your continued support and generosity to me your new Pastor and to all the priests, deacon, and staff here at Mary Star of the Sea. May the Christ Child grant you His abundant blessings and graces in this Christmas Tide and the New Year.

Sincerely in Christ,

Fr. Harrigan Pastor

"The Lord is with you." How did Mary feel? She was puzzled; how would she give birth to the Son of God? Yet she accepted the responsibility and proclaimed a joyful "YES." Her faithful response to God's call carried

her through life. Just as Mary felt perplexed by the angel's greeting, we too can feel overwhelmed by the intense love God has for us. It is astonishing to think that regardless of our failings we are not alone. As Advent comes to a close may we allow ourselves to find peace in the knowledge that God is with us every hour of the day, and we need only ask for the strength and hope that will allow us to overcome our challenges.

Tomorrow, we gather at the creche and we celebrate that the Word of God took on human form to be present with us. Let us as for the grace to believe that the Lord is always with us. Jesus awaits us in the ordinary events of our day.

Adult Confirmation: Classes for Adult Confirmation will begin on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Now is the time to register.
