IntroductionIntimacy is what we call the experience of really knowing and
being known by another person. An intimate friend is someone we feel very close to; they
know us at a deep level. According to Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary, (2015) Intimacy refers to the state of having close personal relationship with somebody.
Intimacy is not Spatial but Relational. We all know what it’s like to be sitting right next to a person with whom we feel distant and we can feel close to a person who is hundredths kilometers away.
What Intimacy with God is? To have intimacy with God you need to know the two Tips
to Heaven:Be connected to Heaven
Have the PIN Number
When you have pin number that is JESUS then the Heaven will be open to you and it operates 24 hrs
Heaven has more than enough for you; (Ephesians 3:20)
Heaven treasure are in us because we have the SON. The Bible says in Colossians 2:1-6;
V1 I want you to know how much I am struggling for you and those at Kumi University and for all who have not met me personally.
V2 My purpose is that they may be encoraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ!
Cont V5 For though I am absent from you in delight to
see how orderly you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.
Brethrens, this is how amazing Heaven is; its ready to re-programme all wicked the files in our life and replace with a powerful programme
How to have Intimacy with God? James 4:8; give as the straight answer. It says, “Draw
near to God, and he will draw near to you”. Therefore, its very difficult to communicate or get near to God if you have no relationship with Him!
Trusting God. God is intimate with those who trust him. The more we trust God, the more intimately we come to know him. King David had intimacy with God. David said for me, it is good to be near God; I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge and I will tell him all my deeds, (Psalm 73:28)
Cont Friends, intimacy with God is more than having
Bible knowledge about knowing crucial things about God. Jesus said, “You Samaritans worship what you do not know, for salvation is from Jews. Time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth; for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is Spirit, and His worshippers must worship in Spirit and in truth’ John 4:22-24.
Illustration Biblical knowledge replaces our trust in God, it only fuels our
pride 1 Corinthians 8:1; but the man who loves God is known by God V3.
I went to Genesis hotel through Exodus road. On the way, I saw Leviticus recording the Numbers of people at Deuteronomy, while Joshua was waiting at the beautiful gate of Judges to see Ruth calling loudly “Samuel, Samuel”. At a stage, the firs and second Kings of Chronicles 1 & 2 were coming to visit Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther for the misfortune of Job their brother. Psalms and teaching children Proverbs concerning Ecclesiastes and Songs of Solomon. This coincided with the period that Isaiah was engaged in Jeremiahs’ Lamentations together with Ezekiel and Daniel their friends. By that time Amos and
Obadiah were not around.
Illustration There days later, Hosea, Joel and Jonah travelled in the same ship with
Micah and Nahum to Jerusalem. Habakkuk then visited Zephaniah who introduced him to Haggai a friend to Zechariah whose cousin is Malachi. Immediately after the tradition, Mathew, Mark, Luke and John got involved in the Acts of Romans who were behaving like the 1st Corinthians group because the 2nd Corinthians were always at loggerheads with the Galatians. At that time too, they realized that the Ephesians and Philippians were close to the Colossians and a suggestion for the 1st Thessalonians visit was made and that on their 2nd Thessalonians visit, they should fist of all see the 1st & 2nd Timothy brothers who had gone to the house of Titus to teach Philemon his younger brother how to read and write Hebrew. On hearing this, James asked Peter twice to explain to him how the three Johns have disclosed to Jude the Revelation journey.
Conclusion Brothers and Sisters in Christ, it’s not about
what you do, how long you do it or where you do it…but it’s about knowing who God really is. Paul stated his priority by saying everything in my life is rubbish compared to knowing Jesus, Philippians 3: 17-21 (V20 But our citizenship is in Heaven and we eagerly wait a Savior from there!
Cont Jesus also adds in an astounding parable, which is
summed up in Luke 11: 9-10: “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seek finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” Jesus’ message for all of us as God’s children is that God earnestly desires to talk to us and spend time with us through prayer. He is exceedingly ready to come to our aide and to bless us.
Cont
MAY GOD BLESS YOU!
