I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing holiday break. As usual Term 3 is a very busy
time at Ocean Road Primary School. Some of the fantastic extra curricula activities this
term include this week’s Year 6 Camp and Cross Country Interschool Carnival; the Faction
Athletics Carnival, and our Open Night (pending COVID -19 restrictions).
School Development Days
The first two days of the term were designated School Development Days. During the two
days, staff participated in the following professional learning activities:
Being a Champion of Children
Positive Behaviour Support
Belonging – Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework
National Quality Standards
Anaphylaxis Training
21st Century Pedagogy – Inquiry Based Learning
Champions of Mathematics
Nature Play
Our Pre-Primary students were excited to return to school last week to discover and
explore their extended nature play area. Features include a climbing trail with wooden
ramps and balance platforms and a river stone riverbed. The project was funded through
the Australian Government’s Local Schools Community Fund.

PBS F ACTION REWARD
Last term our Faction Captions were on the pursuit to
find out which faction would be the winner for our end
of term Faction Reward! This new incentive aims for
students to not only earn gold slips for themselves
but also for their faction. Being part of a faction team
and working towards something bigger than
themselves.
Congratulations to BLUE FACTION who were our
first winners!
The students in Blue Faction participated in 5
different rotations including team games, pillow
festivals and Sumo. A big thank you to all the
specialist teachers and faction captains who helped
run our faction reward rotations and a big thank you
to Chubb Sensei who organised the afternoon.
We can’t wait to find out who will be the winner this
term!

FATHERS’ DAY This year the P&C will be running a raffle for Fathers’
Day. Tickets will be sent home with the students in
the coming weeks. We hope you can support us in
this fundraiser. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions
during the past few months we have been unable to
run any of our fundraisers.
This term we will be running a couple of school free
dress days. Please help show your support as these
funds go straight back into the P&C which is used to
support the school.
We have been looking into flavoured milk straws for
a fundraiser, information will be sent home in the
coming weeks.
CANTEEN
Our canteen is in need of volunteers. The canteen
relies on volunteers throughout the year to help out.
If you are able to help out in any way please contact
Jodie @ [email protected].
If everyone is able to donate a couple of hours
throughout the year, the canteen would never run
short of volunteers. The work is very rewarding and
your time will be greatly appreciated.
The P&C wish to advise that due to Covid-19 and
volunteer shortage we will not be running the
traditional Fathers’ day stall. We apologize for
this as we know the students love these stalls.
Currently we don't have the numbers on the P&C
committee for anyone to co-ordinate these
fundraisers. We do apologize for this again. If
anyone would like to volunteer/help out for the
rest of the year or into next year we would like to
hear from you. You can email your interest to
