• In 2005, the construction of the M0 motorway reached the bank of our main river, the Danube

About the bridge itself

• According to the plans, this bridge’s going to be more than 1862 metres long, and also be the longest river bridge in Hungary.

• Cable-bridge.

• It’s going to be white…

• Or it’s going to be transparent.

• And it costs more than 60 billion Hungarian Forints, without any EU supports.

About the bridge itself

• By the end of the construction of the Northern Danube Bridge, our capital city’s (Budapest’s) traffic will be more adequate and smoother.

• We could hopefully get to the country more easily, and it would also serve the simplification of the heavy traffic.

• Once our Ministry of Transport called out a vote on their website for a new official name of the bridge.

• …and there were several ideas the visitors came up with, like:

• Hofi (22%) – he was one of our most famous actors

• József Attila (2%) – a poet we’re proud of …and of course…• Chuck Norris… (5%)• Therefore our bridge was finally given the name:

Megyeri Bridge

• Once our Ministry of Transport called out a vote on their website for a new official name of the bridge.

• …and there were several ideas the visitors came up with, like:

Visiting the construction

• About a month ago, we visited the construction itself with the whole class.

• An architect gave us a presentation on the different technologies being used during the construction with one of them that was developed by the Hungarian company.

• Later that day we got on a boat that cruised around the pillars.

• It was a little bit boring, but we didn’t mind it.• We got those cool yellow stuffs called safety

caps
