Approximately a year ago, we received the new Dakim system at Providence Park.
This machine is very easy to use and fun to play. Every resident in the Village and St. Elizabeth center should give it a try at least once.
Challenge Your Mind Using Dakim Brain Fitness
The Village Dakim is in the game room where the puzzles are put together and the St. Elizabeth machine is in the library.
It only takes about 20 minutes of your time to go through the program each day and they recommend you use it at least 3 times a week.
If you have any questions or would like to use the machine but are hesitant to try it, please see Sharon (activity director) and she will be glad to help you through it the first time. I guarantee that once you try it, you’ll love it……

The Bowman’s moved from San Angelo in October 2010 to Homestead Place across the street to await their entrance to The Village. Being retired military (Air Force), they are accustomed to frequent moves.
After retiring from the military, John worked as company pilot for Pool Oil Well Services in San Angelo, flying company executives around on various business purposes.
Billie is a golfer, a bridge player and did volunteer work while in the military. They had two daughters. One daughter lives in South Carolina with her husband. The son and husband of their deceased daughter live in Waco-thus the influence to come to Waco.
They are members of the Protestant Church.
Welcome John & Billie.
Garage Sale New Friends at Providence ParkWelcome! John & Billie Bowman Apt. 1212
On October 28th the Village Activity room and Fitness Center will be a buzz with some great deals. Our semi-annual sale will begin at 8:00 a.m. and go until 11:00 a.m. with the auction to follow. We always have a good turnout for our garage sales so invite your friends and family members to come. If anyone has donations they would like to bring, see David McCauley or Sharon Clark. The proceeds from this sale will be used to purchase some new Christmas decorations for Providence Park. We’ve been using some of our decorations for 8 years now and it’s time for new things. Christmas is always a “special time” for us here at Providence Park so come on out and support this great cause.
There will be no exercise classes on Thursday October 27th and Friday October 28th in order to prepare for this garage sale.

Remembering.... On October 19, 2010, we lost one of our favorite fathers. Tom Bosley, aka Howard Cunningham, passed away in a hospital at Rancho Mirage, California.
Tom Edward Bosley was born October 1, 1927, in Chicago. He graduated from high school and joined the U. S. Navy.
As a youngster, Tom dreamed of becoming a star player for the Chicago Cubs, but this was not meant to be. In 1959, he was given the star role in Fiorello! Audiences were delighted and in 1960 he received a Tony award. He then moved to Hollywood. In 1960 he played opposite Natalee Wood in the film Love with the Proper Stranger.
It was television that brought him nationwide fame. At first, he turned down the offer to play the father in Happy Days. However, upon rereading the pilot script, he changed his mind because he liked the way the father-son relationship was written. Happy Days aired for 10 years and became one of the most-watched television series. Henry Winkler, who played Fonzie, and Bosley are the only two actors who appeared in every episode.
The last series in which he had a recurring role was Murder, She Wrote. He played the part of Sheriff Amos Tucker, crime-solving ally of Jessica Fletcher.
Bosley was married twice, the first time in 1962 to Jean Eliot, until her death in 1978. They had one daughter. His second marriage was in 1980 to Patricia Carr, who had daughters from a previ-ous marriage. Their marriage lasted until his death at 83.
In his everyday life, Bosley was reported as being as kind and generous as he was when he acted as the father in Happy Days, and over the years he received many accolades for numerous civic and charitable activities.

Halloween Party! There will be ghosts and goblins galore on Monday October 31st in the Village dining room around 2:30 p.m. Dona always comes up with some “goolish” desserts for us to try, Sharon
will come up with a “scary new drink” and there will be a “best mummy costume contest” by the different departments here at Providence Park and who knows what else we come
up with. Bring a friend and come on down and have some fun and a few laughs on Halloween. If you would like to wear a costume for the party, we can also give out prizes for the best one….
