An overview of the new Bible study for Kids, Students and Adults.TRANSCRIPT
An Unlikely Savior
Some people see the Bible as a collection of stories
with morals for life application. But it is so much
more than that. Sure, the Bible has some
stories in it, but it is also full of poetry, history, codes
of law and civilization, songs, prophecy, letters—
even a love letter. When you tie it all together,
something remarkable happens. A story is revealed.
One story. The story of redemption through Jesus.
This is The Gospel Project.
An unlikely hero.
A king with no throne
does the impossible,
and saves his people from slavery.
Is this David’s story or
does it point to something much bigger?
An unlikely return.
Forfeits his life for others,
spends three days in the dark,
and lives to preach the Word of God.
Is this Jonah’s story or
does it point to something much bigger?
An unlikely Savior.
A baby born in a stable
conquers death upon a cross
and saves the world from sin.
This is not just a story.
This is the gospel.
And the gospel changes everything.

When we begin to see the Bible as the story of redemption through Jesus Christ, God’s plan to rescue the world from sin and death, our perspective changes. We no longer look primarily for the what Bible says about us, but instead see what it tells us about God and what He has done. After all, it is the gospel that saves us, and when we encounter Jesus in the pages of Scripture, the gospel works on us, transforming us into His image. We become God’s gospel project.
The Gospel Project is a Christ-centered Bible study resource that examines the grand narrative of Scripture and how the gospel transforms the lives of those it touches. Over a three-year plan of study, every session immerses participants—adults, students, and kids—in the gospel through each story, theological concept, and missional charge from Genesis to Revelation.
Led by General Editor Ed Stetzer and Managing Editor Trevin Wax, The Gospel Project is designed to unify the entire church under a single Christ-centered resource. Separate study plans for adults, students, and kids ensure the proper focus and depth for each age group.
