TRANSCRIPT
Message from April 2012
Donna and I were talking the other day about the phrase “down state.” We had never heard that term before moving to Glen Dale, probably because we have always lived “down state” from here. Where we have lived in the past, it was I’m going up to Morgantown, over to Clarksburg or down to Charleston. I have often wondered about using words like up, over or down to describe where we are going. Why not just say, “I’m going to Morgantown, Clarksburg or Charleston? Could it be that when we use words like up, over or down we are saying that the center of our universe has shifted? Could we be saying that where I am now is the center of my universe. Because of Jesus’ teachings, we should know that not to be true. The center of our universe should always be God through his Son, Jesus, and other human beings. That being said, Donna and I are going down to
Morgantown, over to Parsons and down to Fairmont next week on vacation. Hope to see you on Sunday and then it is “down state” for us.
John
