This year’s musical, Nonsense in the North Woods! was full of stars. The many efforts that went into the production exemplify Project Cornerstone’s definition of a caring community. Every aspect, from the staging, dancing, and music to the casting and costumes were extraordinary. The combined casts of students from Blossom Hill and Daves Avenue schools did an outstanding job as they sang and danced their way across the stage. Notable recognition goes to the hard working stage crew, who managed the many performances without a hitch, along with a big THANKS to the tireless Producers, Angie Smith, Kim Simon and Becky Hanson. They handled all aspects of the production from start to finish with great attention to detail. I also extend sincere appreciation to Choreographers Janice Engelgau, Alex Hsu and Wendy Meyer for their creative work and coordination with students in the numerous dance routines. Assistant Choreographer Sawyer Clark and Assistant Acting Coach Cole Smith were also instrumental to the artistic success of the show. A very special acknowledgement goes to Vocal Director Kelly Laugenour for her work on the musical score, Costume Designer Jo Venezia, Set Designer/Artist Carole Rogers, Lighting Rusty Andrews and Sound Andy Pindar. A heartfelt round of applause with a standing ovation is extended to Director extraordinaire Brian Houg and sincere appreciation also goes to the following multi-talented committee chairs and parents that helped make this such an amazing event: Kirsten Powell, Lisa Renner, Jen Black, Stephen Slater, Elizabeth Adams, Bianca Gruetter, Amanda Jacobs, Jennifer Halsey, Lee Ann Wade and Vidya Devarasetty. How fortunate we are to have such caring, creative adults in our learning community – dedicated to providing all students the opportunity to participate in the performing arts. Fisher Musical Theater Presents

RoaldDahl'sJamesandtheGiantPeach

A new musical for the whole family to enjoy, featuring a wickedly tuneful score by the Tony Award-nominated team of Pasek and Paul and a curiously quirky book by Timothy Allen McDonald. When

James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that results in a tremendous peach... and launches a journey of enormous proportions. A delightfully offbeat

adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl adventure, critics rave: James and the Giant Peach is a "masterpeach!" Performances are March 9th – March 12th. Get your tickets at http://

Alex’s WishFebruary 13th - 17th

k

Alex Solis, former Blossom Hill student, had a wish. While fighting his battle with bone cancer, he found great comfort in his pillow pet, “Frenchy.” Because of this, Alex wanted to buy pillow pets for every pediatric oncology patient to provide comfort for them during their hospitalization. In December, 2010, Alex’s wish was realized when he donated pillow pets to all of the kids at Kaiser Santa Clara for Christmas

Tragically, Alex lost his battle with cancer in May of 2011. Even though Alex is no longer physically with us, we can keep his wish alive. Please help us raise money to once again donate pillow pets in Alex’s name to the children currently at Kaiser Santa Clara. Every dollar will help, so cash/change and checks are accepted. Please make checks out to “The Alex Solis Benefit Fund.”

If you have any questions, contact Wendy [email protected]
