Did you know that Micro Systemation retains an original of every single mobile device that we offer forensic support for?

At our HQ in Stockholm we have a vault retaining thousands of different mobile phones, tablets and GPS de­vices. This means that whenever you have a support issue, we can imme­diately access the same device from our vault and run comparison tests for support problems you encounter. We prefer to do forensics properly and with access to the original device we can test the results to be abso­lutely sure, so we always provide the best possible support for you. This is what makes the difference in true mobile forensic device support.

FOReNsic suppORT VaulT

We added support for iPhone backup files in XRY Physical a while ago, and in this release we have added support for BlackBerry IPD files. It is easy to get a forensic report of the data inside such a backup file!

For example; if you want to examine a Blackberry IPD backup file held on a computer, copy the original data (in a forensically secure manner) onto a memory stick and insert the copy file into your XRY machine for analysis. Manually select the BlackBerry profile and then select “Import” in the extraction wizard. Then all you have to do is browse to the directory where your IPD file is stored and when you click next, XRY will complete a normal binary file import.

When the file is imported, select “Decode”. This will start the decoding phase, and after processing the file can be opened in XRY Physical as usual for examination.

However you can order this licence key to use with any XRY system. For users who have a Windows device with a built in SD Card slot; it provides the advantage of having the licence key hidden away and protected from acci-dental damage.

This new licence also has 4GB of memory capacity built in. This means

it can be used to store the latest ver-sion of the XRY application as well as licence key data and it can even facili-tate quick data transfers of XRY files by downloading them directly onto the SD Card. This is especially useful if you prefer to minimise the amount of kit that you need to carry around.

We had a lot of feedback from custo-mers that they would like to see the extractor wizard re-instated into our XACT application so that they could work directly on imported data files without the need to start XRY.

Let it never be said that we don’t listen to your constructive feedback.

In v5.4 your wish is our command and now you can use the new extrac-tor wizard in either XRY or XACT and don’t forget you can now perform three simultaneous extractions – so you could be doing two in XRY whilst you have another running in XACT!

mulTiple eXTRacTiONsIn the spirit of doing things 3 times; we thought we should mention the amazing new main feature in version 5.4 of XRY just one more time.

Multiple simultaneous extractions in our wizard are now a real possibility for standard XRY users, whether you have a Logical, Physical or Complete licence, you can perform up to three simultaneous extractions with just one licence key.
