FIRE DAMPERS

Fire dampers are installed in rectangular or circular ventilation ducts at the passages through the fire compartments. In case of fire, the fire dampers close automatically, thus preventing fire from spreading through the ventilation ducts.Fire resistance: 120 min.

Types concerning the release mode:• basic: with thermal release• with electric actuator

Fire Dampers PL-10

General

Application:Fire dampers prevent fire and smoke from spreading through air conditioning and ventilation ducts in buildings. They are installed in openings of constructions or on passages through partition compartments with limited fire resistance (fire walls, partition walls).

Description:The fire dampers PL-10 consist of a blade of calcium silicate, intumescent sealant and thermal release mechanism with the release temperature 70˚C (or higher for special requirements). A silicon profile sealant makes the fire dampers PL-10 resistant also to cold smoke thus improving the fire safety.Due to its special construction a blade is 25 mm thick, which improves energy efficiency of the fire damper.

Fire resistance and classification:

Fire damper's basic fire resistance is EI 120-S.

Installation

The fire dampers should be installed according to the designer's project for the fire safety. A fire damper should not be statically stressed by a building's structure.

During the installation the wooden supports should be used (see the picture).

When mounting, a removable duct extension should be installed to carry out control inside a fire damper!

Please, follow the detailed instructions for installation and use - as available by our sales employees.

Installation in a rigid wall

A fire damper should be installed in a rigid wall of the minumum thickness W = 100 mm into a circular or rectangular opening, gap min. s = 50 mm. A wall can be made of concrete, bricks or aerated bricks. Filler is either concrete or mortar. When mounting, the installation dimension K = 35 mm should be taken into account. For a thicker wall an extension should be added since the fire damper does not get through the wall!A position of an actuator is optional in one or the other fire compartment.

Installation in a rigid ceiling plate

A fire damper should be installed in a rigid ceiling plate of the minimum thickness W = 150 mm, gap s = 50 mm. A ceiling plate is made of concrete. Filler can be either concrete or mortar. When mounting, the installation dimension K = 165 mm should be taken into account. For thicker wall an extension should be added since a fire damper does not get through the wall!

A position of an actuator is optional at the bottom or at the top in one or the other fire compartment.

FIRE DAMPERS PL-20

FIRE DAMPERS PL-20

General

Application:Fire dampers prevent fire and smoke from spreading through air conditioning and ventilation ducts in buildings. They are installed in openings of constructions or on passages through partition compartments with limited fire resistance (fire walls, partition walls).

Description:The fire dampers PL-20 consist of a blade of calcium silicate, intumescent sealant and thermal release mechanism with the release temperature 70˚C (or higher for special requirements). A housing of galvanised steel sheet is separated by calcium silicate heat insulated frame. A silicon profile gasket makes fire dampers PL-20 resistant also to cold smoke, thus improving fire safety. Due to its special construction the blade is 30 mm thick, which improves airflow efficiency.

Follow the detailed instructions for installation and use - as available by our sales employees.

A fire damper should be installed in a rigid wall of the minimun thickness W = 100 mm into a rectangular opening, gap s = 100 mm. A wall can be made of concrete, bricks or aerated bricks. Filler is either conrete or mortar. When mounting, the installation dimension K = 145 mm at the standard length of a fire damper L = 400 mm should be taken into account.A position of an actuator is optional in one or the other fire compartment.

FIRE DAMPERS PL-20 INSTALLATION

Page 23: TECHNICAL CATALOGUE - Hidria 10-19-20 UKR.pdf · Fire Dampers PL-10 General Application: Fire dampers prevent fire and smoke from spreading through air conditioning and ventilation

When mounting, a blade axis and actuator position is oriented optionally from horizontal to vertical position.

A fire damper can be installed in a fire resistant partition wall without connection ducts or with a duct on one side and a protection grille on a free wall.

Maintenance and inspection:The fire dampers should be maintained and inspected twice a year. If two successive inspections show no errors, it is sufficient to perform further examinations only once a year. Maintenance and inspection should only be carried out by authorized service.

WARNINGA standard type of the fire dampers PL-20 are not allowed to be installed in the explosion hazardous places. Neither are they allowed to be installed in the ventilation devices which exhaust mixture of air and explosive gases. In such cases, special explosion-proof fire dampers should be installed. Neither are the standard fire dampers PL-20 suitable for dusty ambients.
