Principal’s Report Presentation day is now only two weeks away. Classes, band and choir are well underway with their preparations for their performance items. We look forward to a wonderful celebration of achievements for 2018 and a fitting farewell to our graduating Year 6 students. It is also a time when we offer our thanks and best wishes to those families whose time with Sutton School will end at the close of the school year.
Representatives of local community associations have accepted our invitation to be part of 2018 Presentation Assemblies and we look forward to many of you joining us. Mr Matthew Brown, Director Educational Leadership Queanbeyan Network and Mrs Fiona Senior-Conroy, Relieving Director Educational Leadership will attend our evening assembly.
In addition to our special awards, every child will be recognised during our Presentation Day Assembly and some students in each primary class have been nominated to receive a commendation certificate and we will announce our school captains and prefects for 2019.
Our nominees for school leadership positions will present their speeches to a school assembly on Wednesday morning, 5th December at 9:30am. Parents are welcome to attend.
A fridge note is included in this newsletter to provide a guide to the happenings in and around our school during the last weeks of term. I look forward to sharing this special time of year with you all. Clare Pritchard Principal

WAMBOIN COMMUNITY CAROLS NIGHT
It might not feel it yet but the end of year is approaching faster than we might believe and so too is the annual Wamboin Community Carols Night! Put on by the Wamboin Community Association this is a wonderful way to celebrate the end of the year with a community get together. This is a non-denominational event and the emphasis is on the community enjoying themselves particularly the younger residents. Admission to the event is a gift under the Christmas tree for the Salvation Army people to take to some less fortunate.
The night features carol singing, the telling of the Christmas story (in its rather unique style), a BBQ (gold coin donation which also goes to the Salvo’s), and of course the arrival of Santa to distribute gift bags to the children. The date for this extravaganza is 7th December 2018 at 7:00 pm sharp at the Community Hall in Bingley Way. So please come along and enjoy yourselves. Parents of children wishing to perform in the Christmas Play are invited (PLEASE) to ring Jenny

Parent Consultation Meeting The meeting held this week was well supported by families representing members of all grades across the school. Topics discussed included: Term Dates, Anticipated Enrolments, Class Structures, Staff Changes 2019, Syllabus Changes 2019, School Programs, Extra Curricula Opportunities, Key Events for 2019 and School Focus Areas for 2019.
Parents were asked to respond to 3 question prompts: What should we keep doing? What should we stop doing? What should we think about doing? Specific questions unable to be addressed during the meeting were taken by the staff who will forward a response prior to the end of term. The questionnaire has also been posted on Skoolbag for parents not able to attend the meeting. Parents are able to respond until December 17th.
