Professor of Psychology, The Citadel, 2002-present
Previous Academic Positions
Head, Department of Psychology, The Citadel, 2002-2009, 2012-2018. Responsible
for a 13-person department, including the planning, scheduling, and administration of
graduate and undergraduate academic programs; recruitment, retention, and evaluation of
regular faculty; management of 10-12 adjunct faculty; departmental budgeting and fiscal
management (annual budget of approximately $1 million); and assessment and strategic
planning.
Associate Provost for Graduate and Professional Education and Dean of the Citadel
Graduate College, 2009-2012. Responsible for all aspects of the university's
graduate and evening college programs, as well as for continuing and professional
education offerings. Among these responsibilities are: all graduate college operations,
including scheduling, marketing, program development, policy matters, and community
relations; management and evaluation of a 10-person staff; fundraising, budgeting and
fiscal management (annual budget of approximately $6 million); management of
