Dear Parents,

It has been a great two years as President of the Home & School Association. We

have seen our school grow and thrive. One of the reasons for our success is the

involvement of each of us in our school. The more people we have involved, the

more great ideas and solutions we are able to develop.

We are embarking on another opportunity for you to continue to or start becoming

active in your child's education and our school. Elections for the 2015-2017 Home

& School Board will take place in April this year. We are looking for individuals who

would be interested in running for the various Officer positions. With this letter is a

brief description of each elected positions's duties and a nomination form. Please

take a few minutes to nominate someone (including yourself) for each position. I

have also included the name ofthe current Officer with their contact information in

case you have questions about what the position entails.

Please consider carefully running for a position. Every great thing that has

happened through the Home & School Association was because people stepped up

with great talents and ideas. You may read this letter and feel that you couldn't

possibly have anything to contribute. From my experiences over the past two

years, I have seen every individual who has stepped up and volunteer provide a

unique contribution that really does help our school grow and thrive.

Nomination forms should be completed no later than March 23, 2015. Completed

forms should be stapled closed or placed in a sealed envelope and labeled H&S

nominations. Results will be compiled, and all nominees contacted to confirm

willingness to run for a position. Election ballots will be sent out Monday, April 6,

2015.

Thank you in advance for taking time to nominate yourself or another talented STA

parent.

Well it is that time of year again…TALENT SHOW! Last year was our first performance in the new gym with our rented stage and it was a huge success! This year we will do it again! The show will be in the new gym on Friday April 17th at 7pm. We are looking forward to another great show!!

AUDITIONS: Auditions for grades K-8 will be held Thursday March 12th in the old gym. Auditions are for the purpose of checking content, length and appropriateness of the acts. All acts must not exceed 2 minutes in length and music must be provided. Performers can be in a total of two acts. IMORTANT NEW INFO: This year, BEFORE auditions, we are asking each act to sign up on www.timetosignup.com/stavolunteers for a time slot. We will use the sign up sheet as our guide for the auditions, so sign up now for an early spot. If it is a group act, only use one person’s name from the group and type group next to their name. If it is a solo act, please put the performer’s name and solo next to their name on the time to sign up. This step is in addition to the permission form, please return the form by March 11th. Also, we have asked the cast of Godspell to perform a song from the show. If you were in Godspell, this performance does not count as one of your acts.

PRACTICES: Practices will be held on Thursdays after school in the old gym starting March 19th. Every child/act in grade K-5 needs an adult supervisor with them during practices. If they do not, we will send them to CARES until someone can accompany them to practices. Please be sure they have a note for their teacher that they are staying for practices and auditions.

PARTICIPATION FEE: Once again we are charging a $5.00 participation fee per child. Please note this is per child, NOT per act. Please send in fee with permission form.

Thank you for your continued support! If you have any questions please contact Maria at [email protected]
