NEW LIFE RETREAT - OCT 21, 22, 23, 24 -
The New Life Retreat weekend is an invitation to a life-changing
encounter with the living Jesus Christ and a call to “let go and let
God”. Are you feeling that your plans for your life haven’t brought
the joy and meaning that you expected? Are you looking for guid-
ance in your faith journey? Are you seeking a personal relationship
with the living Jesus Christ?
Give this weekend a try so that God can tell you in a new or deeper
way how much He loves you.
This retreat is an important component in the faith development of
St. Mary’s Parish. It is a weekend to learn more about the power
and richness of the Holy Spirit and to be baptized in the Holy Spirit.
It is also an opportunity to make new friendships in the Lord. Join
us for the New Life Retreat, Friday to Monday, October 21, 22, 23
and 24. Past retreatants are welcome to attend and we encourage
you to bring a friend or family member.
For information, pick up a brochure at the back or side entrance of
the Church. To register, call Odette at (613) 224-5723.

CALLED AND GIFTED SPIRITUAL GIFTS
INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOP
- DEC 9 & 10 -
Pope Benedict XVI has renewed the call for a "new evangelization"
- a reawakening of the Church's missionary spirit. The Holy Father
is calling you to actively help others encounter the Risen Christ by
allowing Him to work through the spiritual gifts you bring to your
work, family life and your friends. The introductory Called and Gift-
ed workshop will teach you about your place in the Church's mis-
sion to the world and about the spiritual gifts you have been given
in order to fulfill that mission. The workshop will be held in
St. Mary's Parish Hall on Friday Dec 9, 7:00pm to 9:00pm and
Saturday Dec 10, 9:00am to 4:00pm.
The cost of the workshop is $35 for individual or $60 for a couple.
To register, please fill out the registration form inserted in this bul-
letin and return to St. Mary's office.
Following the introductory workshop, participants are encouraged
to have an hour-long conversation with an interviewer trained by
the Institute who will help you more confidently identify spiritual
gifts, distinguish gifts from natural talents and skills, and pick a
particular gift to discern.
The interview will prepare you to participate in a small discernment
group. The Institute's Discernment in Depth resources guide the
small group interaction and individual experimentation. The Dis-
cerning Charism Workbook can be used by individuals who cannot
be part of a small group.
For more information, contact [email protected].
