About St Andrews – The Old Course

• The ‘Old lady’ is unique amongst the world’s great golf courses. The majority of the design and layout are natural and not manmade.

• The course has wide fairways and has some huge double ‘greens’, with only four of the eighteen greens around the course being single ones.

• It is 6,721 yards in length and a Par 72

• To stand on the 1st tee in from of the famous clubhouse is a unique experience. Can you do better than some of the world’s best golfers have on this course?

About St Andrews – The Old Course

• The Old Course at St Andrews is one of the most famous in the world and in order to guarantee play on the Old Course during the summer months, a fixed package must be purchased including either 3,4 or 5 nights accommodation and also a minimum of 3 rounds of golf (1 at the Old Course plus 2 at other courses in St Andrews).

• For all other St Andrews Courses, if you do not include the Old Course, it is possible to play only 1 or 2 rounds of Golf.

• To play any of the courses at St Andrews mentioned in this brochure, a valid certificate proving the handicap of a golfer is required. For males the handicap must be no greater than 24, for females no greater than 36

• St Andrews is approximately 75 minutes drive from Edinburgh

Rusacks Hotel – 4 star

• This hotel is uniquely situated in an enviable position with the most stunning view over the first tee and eighteenth green of the Old Course, the ‘Home of Golf’. This attractive Victorian property opened in 1887 and previous guests have included many of the golfing greats.

• Rusacks combines luxurious accommodation with a front row seat on sporting history. The 2AA rosette award-winning restaurant, Rocca Bar & Grill, serves the finest food and drink against a backdrop of the world’s most photographed golf course. Eden Rooms

• The Eden Parkland Facing Bedrooms are an extremely spacious and luxuriously-appointed “home from home”. Old Course Rooms

• The Old Course Rooms, like the Eden Rooms, are an extremely spacious and luxuriously-appointed “home from home”. The main difference is the Old Course Rooms all have direct views of the Old Course. Most of our guests are immediately drawn towards the window - for this is one of the most spectacular views in the world – and find they spend much of their time rooted to this spot.

• For those who do manage to draw themselves away, this bird’s eye view of the world’s most famous golf course is offset with earthy, neutral tones of cream and brown, delightfully spiced up with the signature red that is used throughout the resort.

Old Course Suites

• The Old Course Suites surely have to be Scotland’s most magnificent and unique suites, for who else can claim this stunning accommodation directly above the 17th green of the world’s most famous golf course? Fairway Suites

• The Fairway Suites are a wonderful contrast to the Old Course Suites; with their contemporary, airy and minimalist feel. The Fairway Suites are housed in the Millennium Wing of the resort, which was launched in 2000.

• Every single Fairway Suite has a magnificent view of the Old Course and the Fife coastline that stretches for miles and miles. These suites are vast, with an extremely spacious separate lounge containing a WC and mini kitchen, a large bedroom and large bathroom with a separate walk-in shower and bath facilities.

• The suites are decked out in cream tones and the use of natural wood, fashionable accessories and modern artwork, which showcases today’s St Andrews, will delight those guests who enjoy a contemporary ambience with a soothing, cream backdrop.

Deluxe Suites

The Jigger Inn

• Golf’s most famous 19th Hole. This historic building is steeped in history. It dates back to the 1850s, when it was the station master’s lodge and the history and heritage live on. Today, The Jigger Inn is home to golfing memorabilia, crackling open-hearth fires, home-cooked food and a superb selection of Scottish beers – this is traditional Scottish pub hospitality at its very best. Fondly referred to as ‘the towns best 19th hole’ and much loved by the many celebrities who visit.

• The Belhaven Brewery was charged by Herbert V Kohler, owner of the Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa and The Jigger Inn, with the task of creating a brew in the style of a classic Scottish Ale that would be as unique as The Jigger Inn itself and available for consumption only within the pub’s ancient walls.

• The Jubilee Course was the third championship golf course built in the town of St Andrews. It is named in honour of Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee which celebrated her 60 year reign as British Monarch and was opened in 1897.

• The New Course is known as St Andrews best kept secret, being a stunning course with some shared fairways.

• Carnoustie is a truly classic links golf course and is the ‘hardest’ in Britain. With strongs winds, deep bunkers and thick rough, its is notoriously challenging to all that play it and is known to be one of the oldest golf courses in the world.
