Past President Marilyn has agreed to co-ordinate our participation in the Business Expo at The Hub on Wednesday 2nd May and will be looking for a few volunteers to assist with a few hours on the joint Rotary Club stall. I leave you to-night & Monday 30th at DARE in the nervous, but I know capable, hands of President Elect Margaret. I know you will all be kind to her. Cheryl & I are a little disappointed to miss tonight’s ANZAC family stories which I’m sure will be very interesting and informative. See you all again on 7th May. President’s Report Well what a fantastic Dance night with lots of fun, great music, dancing & food. Thanks to those who provided food and congratulations to Robyn and her many helpers. The Board has added some extra money to the proceeds ($1863), previous donations ($765 – Bunnings buckets & members) to forward $3000 to the Tathra victims via the Merimbula Rotary Club. Job well done by Warwick & a few helpers in feeding the Beechworth walkers on Thursday. The new “double” Gazebo has been ordered and hopefully will arrive in time for Foundation Day. This should prove to be better protection for the workers and will definately look smarter. Thanks Bill B for your research and negotiations. Both David & Bill have visited an expert Two-Up runner who has provided not only great guidance and instruction but also his equipment for use on Anzac Day. Please, if you’re available, agree to assist Bill on the day.

District News: The District 9685 DG Nominating Committee has nominated David Clark of the Rotary Club of Lower Blue Mountain as District Governor for the year 2020-2021. Consistent with RI MOP 14.020.8, this nomination may be challenged by submission to the District Governor. Any such submission must be received within the next 14 days. If no submissions are received, the nomination will be confirmed ROTARIANS INVITED FOR AUSTRALIA NEW ZEALAND CONFERENCE

The Conference (formerly the Institute) will be held in Hobart on 14 – 16 September 2018 and Rotary International Director Noel Trevaskis invites all Rotarians to join us for this event. There will be a number of interesting presenters covering Rotary projects and issues of interest together with a variety of breakout sessions. What better way to keep up-to-date and enjoy mixing with Rotarians from all Australian states and the North and South Islands of New Zealand as well as visiting some of the many attractions on offer. Further details can be found on the Conference website http://www.rotaryinstitute.org.au/ and additional information is available from the contacts listed on the site. And there is more! Rotaractors can attend the conference at a reduced fee and participants in the Youth Exchange Program in 2018-19 or in the past 5 years can attend with no fee to pay.
