Once again a great night providing a Meal from the Heart for the residents at RMH last Friday night. A special thanks to Adam for co-ordinating and to all who contributed by way of food, drinks and/or time. It is a very special night for both the Families and we Rotarians – Humanity in Motion and Making a Difference. Finally, thanks to all that were able to join in the “Surprise Lunch” for Lynda’s birthday. Not often Lynda is lost for words ! Whilst agreeing that there are many “traditional” aspects to a weekly meeting we do need to consider their relevance in the “modern” world particularly if we are to attract new – particularly younger - members. Why Join Rotary ? An old information sheet that Bill uncovered is attached to the end of the Springword. It may be old but still very relevant. I believe it unfortunate that we decided to do away with the 3 fold story of The Rotary Club of Springwood. President’s Report Many thanks to everyone for their suggestions and thoughts on the changes that need to be considered if we are to survive and grow, particularly to those that have taken the time to “go to print” with ideas to be discussed by the Committee. Whilst agreeing that there are many “traditional” aspects to a weekly meeting we do need to consider their relevance in the “modern” world particularly if we are to attract new – particularly younger - members.
