Level 1:Pike (Age 3-5) The first level of lessons is for beginning swimmers. Swimmers should be able to listen to instructions and follow directions. Swimmers will learn the basic paddle stroke on the front, back and sides. They will also be taught kicking skills and putting their face in the water.

Level 2: Eel (Age 3-5) Swimmers will learn to jump in without assistance, float on their front and back for 20 seconds with or without an IFD. Swimmers will also learn to paddle on front, back and side for 25 yards with an IFD and 15 feet without. Prerequisites: To enter this level, swimmers should be able to front and back float 20 seconds with an IFD. Swimmers should also paddle on their front, back and side for 10 yards with an IFD, and 5 feet without.

Level 3: Ray (Age 3-5) In this class swimmers will learn to front and back float 30 seconds without an IFD; front alternating paddle with rhythmic breathing 25 yards with an IFD, and 20 feet without. Swimmers will also learn front symmetrical paddle with rhythmic breathing 25 yards with an IFD, and 20 feet without; do a side alternating paddle for 25 yards with an IFD and 20 feet without; back alternating paddle for 25 yards with an IFD and 20 feet without; and back symmetrical paddle for 25 yards with an IFD and 20 feet without. Prerequisites: To enter this level, swimmers should be able to jump in without assistance, float on their front and back for 20 seconds with or without an IFD. Shrimp/Kipper/Inia/Perch (Age 6-36mos) This YMCA program provides the highest quality of early water experiences for children age 6-36 months. Four levels of progression will see your child through water adjustment and onto basic skills. Program instruction is directed toward helping you work with your child. Each child is always accompanied by one parent. Classes maybe combined based on enrollment.

Little Learners Preschool program that works on age appropriate areas of learning through play, sensory, block, math, literacy, dramatic play and other theme related activities. Swim lesson held on Mondays and gym on Wednesdays. Child must be potty trained.

Toddler Time - Tues/Thurs This class is an introduction to school for your little one with enrichment activities in sensory, math, literacy, art, block play and dramatic play.

HEALTHY KIDS DAYat the Y!

School Day Out So, you've got a some time off of school and don't know what to do? Come to the Y, don't stay and home and be blue! Don’t let those long days make you frown,Come hang with us - right side up, or upside down. Join friends, staff and some of your favorite camp counselors from the summer for action packed days when school is not in session. Rock climbing, swimming, arts & crafts, sports, adventure and more! The fun never stops, here at Lattof!

Born To Move Imagination, Exploration, Music and Movement Children ages 4-5 are gaining more effective control over movements and have vivid imaginations. This class of 45 or 55-minutes is written to involve them in the narrative. Participants are immersed in active play and storytelling. They develop self-awareness, balance, weight transfer and concentration skills while learning how to interpret music, explore and move to a beat.

Climbing-Climbing Tykes This class is for tykes and a parent who are ready to climb. Encourage your child as you work together learning to climb.

Family Martial Arts In this open style program, parents and children train together, learning how to kick, punch and apply self defense techniques while spending a little together-time as a family. Cost is for 1 parent & 1 child.

Tiny Tumblers Leap, pirouette, vault or flip your way into this class today! Our very own USA Gymnastics certified instructor is at the Y and ready to help you flip into a new school year! With experience coaching every level from tiny tots through National Champions as well as leading trainings at National Gymnastics Congress and the Olympic Trials, our tumbling instructor is ready to take your child to new heights! Our tumbling program focuses on fun while teaching every level of tumbling through proper technique and repetition. Every lesson includes goal-oriented games and activities that make learning new skills fun! Developing balance, strength, coordination and flexibility will not only help your child develop into a strong tumbler, but will also help them develop in ways that will improve their performance in all other sports as well! Don't just (hand)stand around! Register today!

Family Hour Volleyball, basketball, soccer, flag football, t-ball, volleyball, dodgeball, tennis and more!! This class has it all! This fun and instructional class is perfect for children who want to get introduced into a variety of sports. Come to the Y to learn something new every single week and leave ready to rock gym class with all of your new and improved skills!

Parents Night Out Some call it Kids' Night Out. Some call it Parents' Night Out... but whichever way you look at it, it's a fun filled Friday night for everyone! Leave your children (ages 4 & up) at the Y for a structured night of fun, while you paint the town red! Kids will have a ball as they rock climb, play in the maze, go swimming, play games, and best of all - eat pizza!! That's right, we even feed them! Cheaper than a babysitter and infinitely more fun!! Let your kids spend the 2nd Friday night of each month at the Y!

Jr. Lifeguarding Are you interested in lifeguarding – but not quite old enough yet? This course is designed to give 9 to 14 year olds a sneak peek into what it takes to become a great lifeguard. We cover all the basics and get you ready to enter the American Red Cross Lifeguarding program when you turn 15. Participants will learn the introduction to lifeguarding, lifesaving skills, leadership skills, fitness and professional development.

Youth Programs Lattof YMCA

Youth Programs continued Level 1: Polliwog (Age 6-15) This is the beginning level for school age children and is appropriate for anyone new to the water or with little formal instruction. Children will learn the basic paddle stroke on their front, back and sides, kicking skills and will become comfortable putting their face in the water.

Level 2: Guppy (Age 6-15) In this class swimmers will learn to front and back float 1-minute; front alternating paddle 25 yards with rhythmic breathing with and without an IFD; front symmetrical paddle 25 yards; back symmetrical paddle 25 yards; back alternating paddle 25 yards; side alternating paddle 25 yards; and kneeling dive.

Level 3: Minnow (Age 6-15) In this class swimmers will learn to do a standing dive; basic front crawl rotary breathing 25 yards; basic breaststroke 25 yards; backstroke 25 yards; elementary backstroke 25 yards; basic sidestroke 25 yards; and tread water 1 minute.

Level 4: Fish (Age 6-15) In this class swimmers will learn to tread water for 3-minutes; swim 50 yards front crawl; swim 50 yards breaststroke with legal kick and arm pulls; swim 50 yards backstroke; swim 50 yards elementary backstroke with a glide; swim 50 yards sidestroke with a scissors kick; and swim 15 yards butterfly. Prerequisites: To enter this level, children should be able to do a standing dive; basic front crawl rotary breathing 25 yards; basic breaststroke 25 yards; backstroke 25 yards; elementary backstroke 25 yards; basic sidestroke 25 yards; and tread water 1 minute.

Level 5: Fly Fish (Age 6-15) In this class swimmers will learn to do a flip turn; swim 100 yards front crawl with bilateral breathing; swim 100 yards breaststroke; swim 100 yards backstroke; swim 100 yards elementary backstroke; swim 100 yards sidestroke alternating sides; swim 100 yards lifesaving sidestroke; and swim 15 yards butterfly. Prerequisites: To enter this level, children should be able to tread water for 3-minutes; swim 50 yards front crawl; swim 50 yards breaststroke with legal kick and arm pulls; swim 50 yards backstroke; swim 50 yards elementary backstroke with a glide; swim 50 yards sidestroke with a scissors kick; and swim 15 yards butterfly.

Synchro Team Novice (Age 5-19) Our swim team is made up of all types of swimmers-beginner to national level. The team is an opportunity for all swimmers, regardless of age or ability to reach their highest personal potential as both a person and athlete.

Youth Programs continued Tumbling Intermediate Leap, pirouette, vault or flip your way into this class today! Our very own USA Gymnastics certified instructor is at the Y and ready to help you flip into a new school year! With experience coaching every level from tiny tots through National Champions as well as leading trainings at National Gymnastics Congress and the Olympic Trials, our tumbling instructor is ready to take your child to new heights! Our tumbling program focuses on fun while teaching every level of tumbling through proper technique and repetition. Every lesson includes goal-oriented games and activities that make learning new skills fun! Developing balance, strength, coordination and flexibility will not only help your child develop into a strong tumbler, but will also help them develop in ways that will improve their performance in all other sports as well! Climbing-Ascenders This exciting class is designed to challenge all participants to step out of their comfort zone under the guidance of our climbing staff. Participants will learn basic climbing techniques. We will focus on goal setting and striving to achieve individual and team goals. These classes are progressive designed for a variety of experience levels.

Climbing-Belayers This is an introduction to basic movement and belay techniques. This is a progressive class that takes participants from basic to the intermediate skills of climbing. Participants will learn harness and belay set up, top rope belay techniques, knots, movement on the rock, bouldering, safety skills and goal setting. Upon completions of the belayers skill development program and belay test, climber may progress to our Rock Solid program.

Climbing-Climbing Tykes This class is for tykes and a parent who are ready to climb. Encourage your child as you work together learning to climb.

Climbing-Rock Solid Our Rock Solid class is for those climbers who have successfully completed our belayers skills development and belay test. Climbers will learn advanced foot placements, body movements, route climbing, as well as an intro into lead climbing, quick draws, lead belaying and top rope management. Climbers in this program have an opportunity to participate in our Youth Demo Team.

Junior Chef Our Top Chef Camp has always been a huge hit, so we decided to bring this program into the school year! Do you like spending time in the kitchen, experimenting with food? We will be whipping up some fun as we learn how cooking can truly be an art form. We will have blast trying a variety of recipes, learning about healthy options and alternatives, and best of all - eating all of our concoctions! We will always use all natural and organic products and will learn about the health benefits of doing so.

SkyWalker High Ropes This Awesome expedition class takes place in our Adventure Center up on our high ropes course. Participants will be presented with challenges on the earth quake bridge, tremor and floating beam, the loop rope bridge, the kitten crawl and so much more. Each participant will log every challenge and accumulate vertical and horizontal footage needed to become a member of our Sky Walker Expedition team. Step out of your comfort zone and join us for the excitement and challenge of this unique program

Parents Night Out Some call it Kids' Night Out. Some call it Parents' Night Out... but whichever way you look at it, it's a fun filled Friday night for everyone! Leave your children (ages 4 & up) at the Y for a structured night of fun, while you paint the town red! Kids will have a ball as they rock climb, play in the maze, go swimming, play games, and best of all - eat pizza!! That's right, we even feed them! Cheaper than a babysitter and infinitely more fun!! Let your kids spend the 2nd Friday night of each month at the Y!

School Day Out So, you've got a some time off of school and don't know what to do? Come to the Y, don't stay and home and be blue! Don’t let those long days make you frown,Come hang with us - right side up, or upside down. Join friends, staff and some of your favorite camp counselors from the summer for action packed days when school is not in session. Rock climbing, swimming, arts & crafts, sports, adventure and more! Born To Move 3-7 Imagination, Exploration, Music and Movement Children ages 4-5 are gaining more effective control over movements and have vivid imaginations. This class of 45 or 55-minutes is written to involve them in the narrative. Participants are immersed in active play and storytelling. They develop self-awareness, balance, weight transfer and concentration skills while learning how to interpret music, explore and move to a beat.

Born To Move 8-13 Dynamic games, Movement and Musician this 30 class, teachers show participants how to do moves from dance, martial arts and yoga. This class includes great music and games to keep things interesting while developing fitness skills. The teacher will adapt their approach to match participant mood and energy levels so everyone leaves class feeling great.

Youth Racquetball Younger players are invited to come and practice to develop skills, improves abilities and have fun with racquetball.

Spring Spikeball Clinic Spring II will be the introduction of a brand new sport at the Lattof YMCA: Spikeball! Spikeball is a two versus two, fast-paced game that helps develop quick reflexes and reaction time! This program will be broken into 4 weeks of introductory clinics followed by 4 weeks of class time where there will be competitions and games involved! The instructor for this class is a world-ranked Spikeball player, so participants are sure to learn a lot! Come out and join the second fastest growing spot in America!

Rookie Flag Football Attention all football fanatics! Flag football is making a roaring comeback at the Lattof YMCA in Spring II. This class will introduce players to the fundamentals of football: passing, running, blocking, kicking, and more! Synchronized swimming is a combination of positions and movements, music, costumes and makeup all integrated together to create an elegant routine. Intermediate/Age Group Our competitive synchronized swimming program requires athletes to have strength and flexibility to perform routines along rhythm and flair to synchronize and interpret music. There are four main categories in competition: solo, duets, teams and combo.

GRIT Unlimited Les Mills GRIT Small Group Training utilizes a specialty trained coach who will take you through a proven 30-minute, high intensity interval training workout. There are 3 unique programs that focus on plyometrics, strength and cardio. Class times will vary; check the specialty schedule for details.
