Description Karel de Grote university college was established in
1994 from the unification of thirteen former catholic
university colleges in the city of Antwerp. The
Faculty of Art and Design (Sint Lucas Antwerpen) is
the University’s smallest faculty with 400 students,
10% of whom choose to study abroad, and 16% of
whom are incoming Erasmus students, and many of
whom are actively involved in the college’s Erasmus
Student Network.
Surrounding Area Antwerp itself is a large, historic city with impressive
architecture and a population of over 500,000. It is
has a strong reputation for fashion, is the home of
the great artist Rubens and is well known for its role
in the trade of diamonds.
Antwerp is very well located in the heart of Belgium,
with good connections to art cities like Paris, Berlin
and Amsterdam.
Accommodation Students in Flanders usually rent rooms in shared
student houses that typically cost between €300-
400/month.
