SELECTION CRITERIA 2017-18 FIS FREESTYLE/FREESKIING JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS Duved, SWE April 11- April 15, 2018 (MO,DM) 1. PHILOSOPHY: U.S. Ski and Snowboard will select only the most qualified athletes with the GREATEST OPPORTUNITIES FOR WINNING MEDALS at the 2018 JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS AND FUTURE CHAMPIONSHIPS. Selection criteria will be based on world-class performances during a period of elite-level competition. 2. QUOTAS: Athletes will be selected from Moguls, Dual Moguls disciplines. The total number of athletes will be restricted to the start quota as determined by FIS. The maximum number of athletes may be eight (8) athletes total, four (4) per sex/discipline. Disciplines included at the FIS Junior World Championships are MO, DM. U.S. Ski & Snowboard will manage all logistics and qualification. 3. ELIGIBILITY: The age limit for the 2018 FIS Junior World Championships will be by year of birth: from 1998-2003 for Moguls. 4. NAMING OF THE PARTICIPANTS: The U.S. FIS Junior World athletes will be named by at least 3 weeks prior to the event. They will be announced at the U.S. Ski & Snowboard offices and posted on the U.S. Ski & Snowboard website www.ussa.org 5. COACHING STAFF: Maximum Junior World Championships coaching staff will not exceed three(3) coaches. U.S. Ski & Snowboard will send a minimum of 1 coach. Domestic coach or coaches will be chosen by U.S. Ski & Snowboard staff.

6. INTERNATIONALFEDERATIONRULES:

Allqualifyingcompetitionsaregovernedbytheinternationalfederationrulesofcompetition.Theinternationalfederationforsnowsports,asrecognizedbytheIOC,istheFIS.Allcriteriaastheyrelatetorules,regulationsandcompetitioncalendarsaresubjecttochangesbasedonchangesbytheFIS,theUSOCandtheIOC.

7. SELECTIONPROCEDURES–SummaryofObjectiveSelection:

Athletesshallbenominatedtotheteambasedonthefollowingprocess:

Four (4) athletes per gender per discipline will be selected by objective criteria below in order ofimportance.MogulsandDualMogulsisconsideredoneTeam,athletesqualifiedforsingleswillalsoskiinduals.

1.CurrentU.S.FreestyleSkiTeam:A,BorDTeammembersinmoguls.Tieswillbebrokenby:

a.BestWorldCupfinishduringthe2017-18season

b.Currentrankinginthe2017-18WorldCupStandingslistwithintherelevantdiscipline

c.Currentrankinginthe2017-18NorAmGrandPrixlistwithinrelevantdiscipline.

2.CurrentJuniorWorldChampionorInternationalYouthChampion(ifageeligible)insinglemoguls

3.2017JuniorNationalChampion(ifageeligible)insinglemoguls.
