Officials at St. Charles Community College are pleased to announce that the college has been selected as one of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch Top Workplaces.

“This award is noteworthy affirmation of the work environment at the college,” said Ron Chesbrough, Ph.D., SCC president. “SCC is fortunate to have dedicated and experienced faculty and staff who provide a quality education for our students and meet the needs of all those they serve.”

SCC’s highest rated factor was in the direction category, with results from a survey showing employees believe the college is going in the right direction, have confidence in the leadership of SCC and believe SCC operates by strong values and ethics. SCC was one of only 90

companies of all types and sizes selected as a Top Workplace in the St. Louis metropolitan region.

Chris Robinson of R3 Coaching will speak about how goal setting is

crucial to success and personal growth. Attendees will learn how to set and achieve goals in five areas of life.

St. Charles Community College’s Friends & Alumni, Great Southern Bank and the Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to offer this speaker series.

“Our community is rich in leadership and business strategy resources,” Betsy Schneider, SCC director of development, said. “We are just bringing them together to better serve our community.”

Future speaker series topics include Small Business Administration, Don’t Be a Statistic! Combat Fraud in Your Business and more.

To attend the Goal Getter speaker event, preregister online by midnight Sunday, July 20. The series is free and open to the public.

St. Charles Community College received a $10,000 donation in July through funds donated by the Cuivre River Electric Cooperative, Troy, Mo., and CoBank. The $10,000 grant will be used to support scholarships at SCC.

Cuivre River and CoBank each contributed $5,000 to the grant. Under the “Sharing Success” program, CoBank matches contributions made by its cooperative customers, like the Cuivre River Electric Cooperative, to the nonprofit organizations of their choice dollar-

for-dollar up to a maximum of $5,000.“Through the support of the Sharing Success

Program grant from CoBank and Cuivre River Electric Cooperative, the SCC Foundation will be able to award scholarships to make college a reality for many more students,” Betsy Schneider, SCC director of development, said.

CoBank, a national cooperative bank based in Colorado, first launched the “Sharing Success” program in 2012 to help its cooperative partners strengthen the rural communities they serve.
