STEP 1-PlacethefourCylindricalNutsA(M6 Nut)intotheholesintheStandLegs,withthescrewdriverslotfacingout.UseascrewdrivertoalignthethreadsinthenutswiththeopeningsonthebottomoftheStandLegs.

ASSEMBLY PARTS LIST

STEP 2-PlacethedowelsinthefeetintotheappropriateholesinthebottomoftheStandLegs.Makesurethatthefeetarefacingawayfromthebackpanelbracketasshownbelow.ThreadtwoFootBoltsB(M6X55)throughthefootandintothecylindricalwashers,rotatingthewashertoalignifneeded.Firmlytighten&repeatfortheotherside.

STEP 3-Attachthepianobasetotheleftandrightlegs,andsecureusingfourC(M6X16)screws.

STEP 4-ScrewthefourbracketsD(ST4X12)intothepianobasebyfollowingthepre-drilledholes.

Thebracketshouldbefacingthefrontofthepiano,withthescrewsfacingthebackofthepiano.

STEP 5-Screwthemodestlypanelintothebracketsandlegsusingthepre-drilledholesandincludedscrewswithwashersE(M4X10).

Thevanityboardshouldbeonthefrontsideofthebrackets,andscrewsshouldenterthroughthefrontsideofthepiano.

STEP 6 -Placethemainpianosectionontopofthelegs.

LocatethetwolargescrewsF (M6X20) onthebottomofthepianoconsole,locatedtowardtherear.SliptheseprotrudingscrewsintotheU-shapedbracketstowardtherearofthestand.UseoneF (M6X20)screwtosecureeachfrontbracket.Tightenall4screws.

STEP 6 - Attachtheheadphonehooktotheundersideofthepiano,justtotheleftoftheheadphoneoutputjacksbyusingthefourpre-drilledholesandincludedG (M4X12) screws.

Mostofthefrontpanelbuttonsareverystraightforwardandeasytoselectforgeneralfunctions.IncaseswhereyouwanttoeditsettingsinmoredepthyouwillneedtousethefrontpanelbuttonsaswellastheFunctionbuttonandValuebuttonstochangeparameters.

Powering on Rhapsody IIIPressthePOWERbuttonintheupperlefthandcornerofthefrontpanel.TheLEDlightinthebuttonwillstayonwhenthepianoison.Thisproducthasapowerstandbymode.Ifthepianoturnsoffwhileyouarenotplayingit,thisislikelyduetothePowermodebeingsettoAutoPoweroff.Toturnoffthisfunction,holdtheFunctionbuttonandpressF#2onthekeyboard(belowmiddleC).ThepianowillautomaticallyplaymiddleCtwicetoconfirmyourselection.

SELECTING VOICES

TheRhapsodyIIIpianohas12built-invoices.Eachvoicemaybeselectedoneatatime.Theycanbelayeredtoproducetwovoicesatonce,orassignedtotheleftorrighthandsinthesplitmode.

Toselectavoice,presstheVoiceSelectbuttonthatrelatestothesoundlistedabovethebutton.ThebuttonwilllightandtheLEDindicatortotheleftofthevoicelistwillindicatewhetherthetoporbottomvoiceisselected

Simplypressthecorrespondingbuttonagaintoswitchbackandforthbetweentheoriginalvoiceandvariationvoice.

SPLIT MODE

SplitModeallowsthekeyboardtobedividedintotwosectionssothatdifferentvoicesmaybeplayedwiththeleftandrighthands.Thevolumemaybeindependentlyadjustedforeachvoice,theSplitPoint(thehighestnoteplayedwiththelefthand)maybeadjustedandtheSplitVoicemaybechangedasdesired.

To Enter Split ModePressthe[SPLIT]button.TheSplit(lefthand)voicewillbethelastSplitVoiceusedandtheSplitPointwillbeB2(justbelowmiddleC.)

To Change the Lower Split VolumeToadjustthelowersplitvolume,pressandholdtheSplitbuttonandpresstheValue+andValue–buttons.

Change the Split (Left Hand) VoicePressandholdtheSplitbuttonwhiledepressingthedesiredVoiceSelectbutton.

Change the Main (Right Hand) Voice SimplypressanotherVoiceSelectbutton.

Change the Split PointHoldtheSplitbuttonandthenpressakeyonthekeyboardtodeterminethesplitpoint.Thiskeywillbethetopkeyofthelowersplit.

To Change the Split (Left Hand) OctaveWhenSplitmodeison,changingtheoctaveadjuststhelowersplit.PressandholdtheOctavebuttonthenpresstheValue+orValue–button.

To Turn Off Split ModePresstheSplitbutton.TheSplitButtonLEDwillswitchofftoshowthatitisdisabled.

TheRhapsodyIIIcomeswith12demosongsaswellastheabilityforyoutoplayandrecordyourownsong.WhenyourecordyourownsongtherecordingwillberetaineduntilyoueitherrecordanewsongorifyouresettheRhapsodyIIIbacktofactorysettings.

To Play A Demo SongSimplypresstheDemobuttontohavetheRhapsodyplayasongonyourcurrentlyselectedvoice.PressingtheVoicebuttonswhileademosongisactivewillplayasongonthenewlyselectedvoice.

Metronome FunctionPresstheMetronomebuttontoturnonthemetronome.TheLEDwilllight.Youwillheartheclickinheadphonesorspeakers.PresstheMetronomebuttonagaintoexitmetronomefunction.TheLEDwillturnoff.

To Change Metronome Time Signature1. PressandholdtheMetronomebutton,then

pressandholdoneofthe10-keybuttonsontherightsideofthepanel.Forexample,for3/4meterholdtheMetronomeand3(Organ)buttonsfortwoseconds.Seethechartbelowfordetails.

To Change the Metronome VolumeToadjustthevolumeofthemetronomeinbalancewiththepianosound,pressandholdMetronomeandpresstheValue+orValue–button.

Metronome Tempo SettingWhilethemetronomeison,pressingtheValue+and–buttonschangesthetempo.

Tospecifyatempo,pressandholdtheMetronomebuttonandenterthethreedigittempousingthe10-keypad.Forexample,holdMetronomeandpress0-9-2for92bpm.

Transpose FunctionTotransposethepianokeyboardby+12or-12semitones,pressandholdtheTransposebuttonandplayakeyaroundmiddleCofthekeyboard.Transpose+middleCisnotransposition.Transpose+EbabovemiddleCtransposesthepianosharpby3semitones.

Thebuttonwilllightuptoshowthatthefeatureisactive.Todisabletransposition,presstheTransposebutton.

OctaveTotransposethepianoupordownbyoneoctave,pressandholdtheOctavebuttonthenpresstheValue+orValue–button.Thebuttonwilllightuptoshowthatthefeatureisactive.Todisabletransposition,presstheOctavebutton.

Piano ResetIfyouwanttoquicklyresetthekeyboardtofactorysettings,youcandothisbyholdingdowntheOctaveandTransposebuttonwhilepoweringonthepiano.WaitforthelightstoflashoncebeforereleasingtheOctaveandTransposebuttons.

RECORDING

Recording Your Own Song1. PressthePlayandTrackbuttons

simultaneously.

2. Onceyoustartplaying,thePlayandTrackLEDswillflashtoindicatethattherecordinghasstarted.

3. Whenyoufinishplaying,presstheTRACKandPLAYbuttonsagaintostoptherecorder,oryoucanpressPLAYonlytostoptherecorderandhearyoursong.

Changing Recording TracksTheRhapsodyIIIincludestwoseparatetracksforrecording.Inordertochangetracks,simplypresstheTrackbutton.TheTrackbutton’sLEDwillbeunlittoindicatethattrack1isselected,andwilllightuptoindicatethattrack2isselected.HoldingdowntheTrackbuttonwilldeleteyourcurrentlyselectedtrack,andwillconfirmbyplayingaC3notethreetimes.

TUNING

To Change Piano TuningYoumayneedtoadjustthetuningofthepianobyafewcentstomatchanacousticinstrumentorrecording.Todothis,holdtheTransposebuttonandpresstheValue+orValue–buttons.

EFFECTS

TheReverb,ChorusandModFXeffectsmaybeappliedtoeachvoiceindividuallyandwillberetainedevenwhenthepoweristurnedoff.

Toapplytheseeffects,presstheassociatedbutton.Thebuttonwilllightandtheeffectwillbeheardwhenthepianoisplayed.

ToturnofftheeffectpressthebuttonofthedesiredeffectagainandtheLEDlightwillgooff.

Reverb,Chorus,andModFXsettingsaresetperInstrumentandretainedoverpowercycling.

ChorusChoruseffectsaddshimmeringmovementtoavoice.Thesettingcanbesubtletoextreme.TochangetheChorusdepth,holdtheChorusbuttonthenpresstheValue+orValue–buttons.

MODFX

Modulationeffectsaredesignedtoadduniqueplayablesoundeffectstovoices.

Inadditiontothesounds,theRhapsodyIIIhasaneweffectssectionthatwillallowuserstohavemorecontrolovertheirsoundscalledModFX.

TheseneweffectswillbeinsertedintotheaudiopathwayofthesoundtothemixerandwillbepresetintothePatch.Whenyouswitchonthespecificpatchapreseteffectwillbeassociatedwiththesound.Youcanthenselectwhethertheeffectshouldbeturnedofformodified.TheModFXAre:

TremoloWhentheModFXeffectisactive,theElectricPianovoicesandsynthvoicewillreceiveastereotremoloeffect.Allothervoices(asidefromRockOrgan)haveamonotremoloeffect.

To Change The Tremolo Depth:Toadjustthetremolodepth,holdtheModFXbuttonandpresstheValue+orValue–buttons.

BLUETOOTH

AudioTheRhapsodyIIIiscapableofwirelessconnectiontopersonaldevicesviaBluetooth.Whenadeviceispaired,musiccanbeplayedthroughthepiano’sspeakers.Toconnectthepianotoyourtablet,smartphone,orcomputer:

1. PresstheBluetoothbutton.Ifyouhavenotyetpairedadevice,theLEDwillflashquickly.

2. FromtheBluetoothmenuonyoursourcedevice,selecttheRhapsodyIII.

3. TheBluetoothbuttonLEDshouldstopflashingonceitispairedwithadevice.

MIDITheRhapsodyIIIincludesBluetoothwirelessMIDIforconnectiontoappsliketheWilliamsAppforiOS.Toconnectthepianotoyourtablet,smartphone,orcomputer:

TheMusicalInstrumentDigitalInterface(MIDI)isanindustry-standardprotocolthatenableselectronicmusicalinstrumentssuchaskeyboards,computers,drummachines,etc.tocommunicate,control,andsynchronizewitheachother.MIDItransmissionsconsistofelectroniccodesthatcommunicatenotestobeplayed,theinstrument,pitchorintensitythatnotesaretobeplayedwith,andcontrollingcodessuchasvolume,vibrato,cuesandclocksignals.TheRhapsodyIIIhasseveralfunctionsthatfacilitateitsuseasaMIDIdeviceorcontroller.

MIDI ChannelsTheRhapsodyIIIhas16channelsnumberedfrom1-16.Eachofthechannelsisresponsibleforavoice.WhentheinstrumentreceivesMIDIinformationfromanexternaldevice,theactivechannelisdeterminedbythecontrolmessage.

Multitimbral ModeTheRhapsodyIIIisabletoreceiveMIDIinformationonupto16channelssimultaneously.IfyouplantouseyourpianowithamultitrackMIDIrecordingsystem,youcanrecordupto16differentpartsusingtheWilliamsRhapsodyvoices,eachplayedbackindividuallyondifferentMIDIchannels.Toensureyourrecordedpartisplayedbackwiththecorrectvoicemakesuretopressthevoicebuttonfirstandplayyourpartsecond.

NOTE: Because the Rhapsody is receiving playback information via MIDI, the currently selected voice on the piano may not correspond to the voice being played back.

2. PressingA#0allowsyoutochangetheMIDIchannel.ThemainpianosoundwillplayPiano1C3theamountoftimesequivalenttothecurrentvalue.So,ifMIDIchannel5isselecteditwillplay5times.YouthenpressA#0fivetimestoselectchannel10.Piano1C3willplaytheamountoftimesequivalenttothecurrentsetting,after2secondsofinactivity.Once16isreached,pressingonemoretimewillselect1.

MIDI Panic Reset1. PressandholdtheFunctionbutton.

2. PressingC#1triggers“MIDIPanic”whichsendsoutgeneralMIDIresetmessagessuchasallnoteoff,etc.OncePanicresethasbeencompleted,thepianowillautomaticallyexitEditmode.
