The Athletic Communications Department is responsible for coordinating the dissemination of pre-event releases, issuing credentials for media members, and coordinating post-event coverage. If the Athletic Communications Department can assist you in your work in any way, please contact a member of our staff.

Game NotesGame notes are generally available by Tuesday through the Athletic Communications Department. Notes are emailed and are also available on the web at cmuchippewas.com. To be added to the email distribution list, please contact Jim Knight at [email protected].

Web SitesMedia members are reminded that the official athletics web site – cmuchippewas.com – contains updated player stats and bios each week. Also available on the site are weekly video interviews with a coach and player, postgame highlights and press conferences.Other Helpful Sitesfacebook.com/CMUFootball@CMU_FootballYouTube.com/CmichAthletics

InterviewsAll coach and player interviews must be arranged though Jim Knight. Please allow 24 hours to schedule an interview. Players and coaches are generally available following practice on Tuesday and Wednesday, or by appointment if necessary. Coach Bonamego is also available on the weekly MAC Media Teleconference every Monday throughout the season.

Visiting RadioOne ISDN line and two telephone lines are available for use by the official radio network of the visiting team. Visiting networks that wish to have additional lines installed at their own expense may do so by contacting CMU Telecommunications at (989) 774-1474.

VideoThe Athletic Communications Department maintains a vast library of video clips for distribution to requesting electronic media. In addition, postgame highlights and press conference cut-ups are available for download using the department’s FTP server. Please contact Todd Edwards ([email protected]) for detailed instructions and requests.

Postgame InterviewsFollowing all home games, Coach Bonamego and selected players will meet with the media in the IAC Team Meeting Room. A representative from the Athletic Communications Department will escort media to the room from the northwest corner of the field at the end of the game. The opposing coach and players are available outside the visitors’ locker room. After road games, Coach Bonamego and players will meet with media outside the locker room following a brief cooling off period.

Media Will CallThe Media Will Call window is located in the southwest ticket booth. Credentials and photog armbands are available for pickup.

Chippewa Nickname The Central Michigan University Board of Trustees has approved the continued use of the nickname “Chippewas” in association with CMU. The university’s goals are to use the name with honor and respect, increase supportive connections between CMU and Native Americans and improve efforts to sensitize students, faculty and staff to Native American traditions and cultures. Media representatives have been extremely cooperative as we have worked to address this important issue. In nearly all cases, print and broadcast reporters have supported CMU’s efforts to eliminate the use of symbols, headlines and copy that present inappropriate and inaccurate images of Native Americans. Central Michigan University is grateful for your help, and we ask for your continued cooperation and sensitivity. With your assistance, we can continue to use the Chippewa name with dignity and respect.

CMU, an AA/EO institution, is strongly and actively committed to increasing diversity within its community (see www.cmich.edu/aaeo).
