question 5(media)

1
We attract our target audience by giving them exactly what they want. To be thrilled. We made sure that our film would be appealing to men more as men are the main audience for thriller films therefore it seems logical to make it appeal to a male that was mature enough to understand our story but still had that deep seated immature attitude that our 2 main protagonists would share. Our main protagonist would appeal to the maturity of the audience as he is a punctual and hardworking cop while his partner is the more hotheaded of the two and could be seen as a troublemaker. I also feel that the “bromance” that’s these two characters would share while they hunt for the killer and are constantly one step behind would be appealing. The camera work in our film has been used to coincide with the target audience as the scenes with the protagonist heading to the crime scene is used in 3 long lasting shots that are supposed to represent his expertise and familiarity with murder cases as the shots are supposed to show the monotonous tone of his life. The audience is being asked to themselves in a position where they can be intrigued by the enigmatic nature of the killer as well as possibly shocked by the expertise that the police show when dealing with brutal murders as they seem to have dealt with similar situations many times before.
