What an exciting time for Premier Truck Group! I communicated on May 16 that we had entered into an agreement to acquire Warner Truck Centers. If we’re successful in closing this transaction, it will be our first acquisition in the United States since February of 2015, when we acquired Freightliner of Knoxville and Freightliner of Chattanooga. It certainly hasn’t been for a lack of trying. Over the last few years I’ve spoken to a number of different groups that, for one reason or another, have not come together. In retrospect, I think this is best, because we’ve been able to fine tune several areas in our existing business that make it easier for us to make an acquisition of this size. More importantly, Warner Truck Centers, as an organization, checks all the boxes that are important for joining us. They have great employees who are keenly focused on the customer. They have great facilities strategically located on major corridors and they represent great brands in Freightliner and Western Star. Finally, they have great customers who love the DTNA products and will look to do more business with us.

Another exciting aspect of their business that will benefit our customers is Warner Fleet Services (WFS). WFS provides 24/7 breakdown support, technical support and titling and registration services for a number of customers. As we all know, our customers demand more from us every day and these services will be a great addition to what we can offer.

Separately, their organization and Premier Truck Group are two of the largest dealers for DTNA in terms of revenue. Combined, we will be the largest

dealer for DTNA with one of the best operating footprints across the country, providing additional support to not only our and their customers, but all customers traveling the interstates.

There will be much to do and I know we’re all anxious to start collaborating but for now, we’ll have to be content to plan all the opportunities so that we are prepared to execute after we close.

Turning my attention to our existing business I’ve truly run out of adjectives to describe how well we are performing. Through the first quarter we were up 31% in net profit YoY. We followed that up in April with our 2nd best month ever! Even more impressive is that our financial performance was above two of the automotive regions. Considering we have a much smaller number of rooftops, it is quite impressive. This sort of performance enables us to reinvest in our business; whether through acquisitions, the hiring of additional talent or reinvestment in our facilities. This can be seen most recently in the remodeling in Mississauga with the service shop being repainted, and to be followed by the doors and apron as we migrate to the balance of the interior. In Chattanooga, our new remarketing facility is well underway.

For sure 2019 is off to a great start! Thank you to all of you for your contributions and hard work on a daily basis to make this possible. I look forward to seeing you in the markets.

All the best,

2nd Quarter

Premier Truck Group is growing! This June, South Dallas celebrated their 10 year anniversary from the day the facility first opened. To mark this momentous occasion, there were food trucks, an ice cream truck, a live DJ, and an actual NASCAR here to have a friendly competition in a Pit-Stop Challenge. The first place winners in the competition was The Furious Five with 23 seconds to change the tires out; team members: Kieale Scott, Tedd Krywalski, Diego Barron, Edgar Iturbe, and Jonathan Fitzgerald. They received a trophy as well as a $200.00 gift card each. Sad to say that the Burk’s Bruisers (Drew Burk, Darren Hunt, Eric Westermann, John “Stick” Sczykutowicz and Justin Griffin) do not have the bragging rights of winning.

Freightliner runs a recognition program called the Leland James Elite Program, named for the founder of Freightliner Trucks. It was designed to recognize sales professionals for their sales excellence, customer service, and industry leadership. We’re proud to announce that Mississauga employee Adrian Hamill and South Dallas employee Gary Bond were awarded this great honor for their commitment to excellence.

Our teams are ready to be able to track and market to our customers in a simple and organized manner. The level of transparency the tool provides will be a ‘win’ for all of us. Chattanooga is breaking ground on a long anticipated new Remarketing Sales building that is coming along nicely. We are very excited and eager to have this up and running. We feel it will be a benefit to all, not just the East.

Knoxville’s Employee Engagement Commit-tee (EEC) has been busy planning for our annual Paralyzed Veterans of America Golf Tournament that took place at the end of May.   In the third year of existence, we are already looking to break last year’s record with the proceeds going to PVA. Great job to everyone in growing this event.  Speaking of breaking records,

and we remain optimistic the pace will last through the summer months. Customer confidence in the vocational segments is tempered only by the extensive backlogs at our body suppliers causing some delivery delays as the construction season gets underway.

In April, we welcomed Rob Stinson to our sales team in Belleville. Rob brings extensive knowledge of the Eastern Ontario market and is well known to the customer base. We are excited and fortunate that Rob decided to join the PTG team and we look forward to growth in all segments of the market including bus in the area.

things you are capable of.” In 2009, many of us were afraid of failure as we opened a new 200,000 square foot dealership in the heart of the great recession. There was a lot of uncertainty in the market. Our customers were struggling and very cautious about the future. To make matters worse, we had a storm that damaged our sales building about a month prior to our grand opening. Regardless of the challenges, our team continued to work hard every day to ensure we were ready to take care of customers.

As we look back ten years later, it is clear we made the right decision. It is amazing how much the business has grown. We moved almost all the employees from our original Dallas location in early June and left a skeleton crew to operate what would become our

common or a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests and goals. The West Region of the Premier Truck Group takes great pride in being a part of so many communities in our area. We strive daily to maintain an attitude of success. We share common interests with our internal and external customers. We are relentless in working towards goals so that others may see that we are dedicated to not only making ourselves proud, but to making every community we touch just as proud to be a part of us as we are of them.

Many area non-profits have benefited from the volunteer hours put into their programs by our employees. Premier Truck Group (PTG) of Amarillo was fortunate to be a part of the 5th Annual “One Chair At A Time” (OCAAT) Wheelchair Madness Basketball Tournament. OCAAT was founded in 2013 and is dedicated to improving the quality of life for adolescents and young adults with physical disabilities by providing sports wheelchairs, education and opportunities for participation in adaptive sports. The late Mr. Wade Black (our very own)

was a founding member of this organization and we hope to continue honoring his legacy in this community on an annual basis. The adrenaline was flowing as TEAM WADE wheeled their way up and down the court and made it into the playoffs. They may not have won the official championship title, however, we are proud to have them be a part of our community and will always consider them champs!

The Midland/Odessa Group volunteered their time in helping with the local Special Olympics Texas Track Meet. As they were helping others accomplish their goals of winning the race, throwing the shot or hopping, skipping and jumping, they were also setting records of their own. We are very proud of our Parts Department and their hard work and dedication in setting an all-time high record in Parts Sales for the West Region. As you may or may not know, the market in the Permian Basin is driven by the oil and gas industry. It is a very fast paced environment and can sometimes present its own set of challenges, so the fact that our skeletal crew has managed to knock one out of the park under such circumstances gives us reason to celebrate everyone involved in this community!

PTG of Amarillo is working closely with the Amarillo Independent School District through the Amarillo Area Center for Advanced Learning (AACAL) to develop and implement a program to provide high school students with a head start in the automotive/diesel technology industries.

PREMIER FINANCING

PREMIER FINANCING

1

Starting in late 2017, Premier Truck Group formed a retail financing partnership, Premier Financing, with our sister company, Penske Truck LeasingRemarketing Group. Since then, we’ve grown from one employee to 20 currently (and growing). The t eam c urrently p rocesses approximately 1,400 applications a month and funds over 300 units per month. A big shout out and congratulations to the Premier Finance Team on your success!

A very strong performance was turned in by Premier Financing in Q1. March was an all-time

Premier Truck Group’s 2nd annual Remarketing “Winner’s Circle” Summit was held at the Texas Motor Speedway. The meeting was attended by all the Remarketing Managers, Remarketing Product Specialists, and Remarketing Coordinators in the Enterprise. We were honored to have Daimler Finance, Daimler Truck Remarketing, RigDig, and Premium 2000/NTP present as vendor guests. The Awards Dinner and Banquet was held at the Texas Motor Speedway Club overlooking the TMS Track. The following awards were presented: Enterprise Overall Champion and MVP: Todd Gonitzke Enterprise Top Performer Platinum Level: Constantine Ononye Enterprise Top Performer Gold Level: Scott AdamsEnterprise Top Performer Silver Level: Franklin IkwuemeEnterprise Top Performer Bronze Level: Jon Vent Enterprise Champion Sales Category 3: Shakeel IshaqEnterprise Champion Inventory Control: Paul AlvaradoNewcomer of the Year; Mid-Market Best Performance: Jason Moore / OdessaLarge-Market Best Performance: John Sczykutowicz / Dallas

record setting performance only to be eclipsed in April. Premier Financing has already made a big impact on the Premier Truck Group financial services results. In March, PTG was named the Daimler Truck Financial Diamond Dealer Award Winner, the #1 Dealer based on annual volume in the US, and #2 Dealer based on volume in Canada. The good news is that we have picked up where we left off in 2018. Because of this continued performance and demand, we’re very pleased to announce and welcome several Q2 additions to our financial services team - Jasten Prutzman (PF Reading), Erica Palma (PF Reading), Jose Maradey (PF Reading) and Chelsea Wilson (PTG Mississauga).

I’m also pleased to announce that we’re going to update and modernize our dealership finance and insurance department name to more accurately describe and align our current and future focus. We no longer finance just loans

and leases on our equipment, we also offer other equipment financing, like trailers, fracking units, ambulances and firetrucks, in addition to roadside assistance plans, warranties, and a full suite of insurance products. This outside financing approach also helps provide PTG a new source for truck leads too. We believe our new name, the Financial Services Department, will provide the roadmap for future growth and opportunities. We’re looking to roll this out in early June.

2019 will be a year of progress with investments in technology, including Sales Overdrive, TerraVista’s On-line portal, F & I Pro 2.0, our new F & I KPI Report and we continue to work on lender integration to further streamline our business. Ultimately, these systems will be the foundation for increased efficiencies and productivity, allowing our team to provide even better customer service and support.

PTG Midland Employees Shave Heads

in Support of Spouse Fighting Cancer

At Premier Truck Group, we take great pride in having a family oriented culture. It is with such pride that we stand together through the storms waiting for the sunshine to break through. Our Midland team recently shaved their heads in support of Mary Lou Leverington, spouse of Mike Leverington, in her fight against cancer. We are honored to have Mike and Mary Lou as part of the Premier Truck Group family! Our prayers continue to go out to this family in her continued fight – please keep them in your thoughts as Mary Lou kicks cancer to the curb!

PTG DFW Sponsors Speedway Children’s

Charity Annual Golf Tournament

On March 28th, Premier Truck Group had the honor of being the presenting sponsor for the Speedway Children’s Charity Annual Golf Tournament. Several employees from the DFW market dealerships were able to participate in the tournament but of equal importance were the company employees that came out to volunteer in support of this great event. Speedway Children’s Charity was founded in Charlotte, in 1980, as a way for the racetrack to give back to the community. When the Texas Motor Speedway was opened in 1997 the newest chapter was formed. This non-profit has raised over $11M since its inception and those proceeds directly support the children of need in the Dallas, Tarrant, Fort Worth and Denton counties. Our President, Rich Shearing, joined their Board of Directors in 2019. Keep an eye out for more opportunities to volunteer and participate in fundraising events to help less fortunate children.

East Region Brings

the Heat for Charities

In March, both the Knoxville and Chattanooga Dealerships held chili cook offs to raise funds for a charity of their choice. PTG of Chattanooga held their very first chili cook off on March 1st, and raised $910.00 for Mission Able. First place prize went to Tyler Sentementes. This is Sentementes’ second time taking home first place. Second place went to Adam Carmon and third place went to Keith Martin. This was PTG of Knoxville’s second year holding a chili cook off. Their event took place on March 15th and raised $134.00 for Paralyzed Veterans of America. First place went to Jeffery Epperson. Second place went to Tammy Headrick and third place went to Brandon Hicks. Thanks to everyone who entered their delicious recipes and helped us raise funds!

PTG Amarillo Enters

into Advanced

Learning Partnership

Premier Truck Group of Amarillo recently presented to the mechanic students at Amarillo Area Center for Advanced Learning(AACAL). PTG of Amarillo has partnered with AACAL and will have our first group of interns in the fall. The students enjoyed the exposure to the 2019 122SD Freightliner and had a blast going over every inch of the truck! Our dealer trainer, Randy Brehm, gave a diagnostic example and showed the students what the software looked like when hooked up to the truck. We are looking forward to this new partnership and we are definitely excited to welcome our new interns in the fall!

Rebuilding Together is an Annual Tradition

for PTG Oklahoma City

Every spring since 1992, our “Rebuilding Day” event has taken place and volunteer teams have repaired over 2,000 homes for low-income seniors in our community. Volunteer teams from local businesses, churches, corporations, hospitals, etc. get together and make FREE home repairs to a home they have been assigned based on skill level. Premier Truck Group of Oklahoma City has participated in and supported this event for many years. Our team of employees, led by Jane Kirton, completed repairs such as general cleaning, interior, and exterior painting, laying new carpet, repairing kitchen cabinets and countertops, repairing floors, hanging new doors and windows, repairing siding, repairing roof leaks, installing grab bars in bathrooms, installing handrails on porches and many more needed repairs.

PTG Fort Worth’s Breakfast of Champions

On May 9th, PTG Fort Worth was fortunate enough to be able to attend and sponsor 2 tables at the Inaugural Breakfast with Champions benefiting Special Olympics Texas. It was a very moving presentation where parents, volunteers, and athletes of Special Olympics spoke about their experiences within Special Olympics Texas. The Inaugural Breakfast with Champions event was a culmination of all components of Special Olympics Texas, hearing directly from every primary person impacted and makes an impact on the organization – Special Olympics Athletes, Unified Partners, Family members, volunteers, Law Enforcement Officers, and our President. This event serves as a community engagement opportunity for individuals and businesses to come and hear personal testimonies about how Special Olympics and the “inclusion Revolution” has impacted their lives, in hopes that it will impact the lives of those in attendance to join us in the Unified movement.

This May, PTG of Fort Worth started their own bowling league. 10 teams of 4 players signed up to compete with each other. They’ll play 3 games every Thursday for 8 consecutive weeks. At the end of the season, the winning team will receive a trophy with the team members’ names engraved into it. The trophy will be prominently displayed at the dealership. The plan is to have a new season with new teams and players every year, along and to update the trophy in the dealership with the new winners. This has been a huge success with lots of laughs and overall great team-building. General Manager Chad Pennington says that “it’s been a great experience and one that I have been very thrilled with.”

We are pleased to have completed our 2019 employee efforts and to have tabulated our results.   Our participation rate was 98% this year, of the 1,400 plus employees who are part of our team. That participation rate was achieved in just one week, which was a phenomenal accomplishment by our HR Representatives and our dealership teams. When we redo the survey process in 2021, I would anticipate extending the time frame to two weeks so that anyone on vacation will be able to respond.

Most pleasing was the improvement we achieved from 2017, as nearly every dealership had a better result.  It is still abundantly clear to us that there are improvement opportunities remaining and we will continue to strive for that.  Rich and I read the hundreds of comments that were provided and have requested that our General/Branch Managers note the most common themes and share those with each of you as opportunities for improvement.

By the time you read this, you will have participated in at least one meeting pertaining to those results.  We desire to be transparent throughout the company in sharing the feedback with you, and then working our corresponding action plans. Each dealership will be formulating employee involvement committees to discuss the results, seeking additional feedback, and then sharing the action plans with each of you.

The EIC (Employee Involvement Committee) should meet on a regular basis to monitor the progress on action plans and add a level of accountability so that desired improvement may be obtained. The action plans will be posted in prominent locations so that all may read. We simply desire to be transparent with how we are doing and hopefully that will lead to similar levels of improvement in 2021.

Once again, we appreciate all of you in sharing your insight with us.  As a reminder, you don’t need to wait until the next survey to convey your thoughts.   Our doors are always open. Call or write at any time!!

Enjoy your summer!

Steve Neely (Woodbridge), 20 years in May, and Frank Demichino (Mississauga), 35 years in June, are both key members of the North Region Team. Their dedication and commitment sets an example for us all to aspire to. Thank you Steve and Frank, we are all very fortunate to be able to work alongside you.

Once again we would like to thank all other regions for the support you give to us and the Ontario Customer base. We hear time and again how comfortable and welcome they are made to feel when they enter your stores. Our footprint on both sides of the border is a huge advantage and because of your support, we continue to win new business. Thank you, enjoy the summer months.

This program will allow students completing this program to gain A.S.E. Student Certification and give them the opportunity to intern in dealerships and other shops where their skills are enhanced with hands-on training. We are in the early stages of this program and are eager to serve and be served by this community created

from this joint venture.

The Amarillo location was honored to host the monthly meeting of the Executive Committee in February. It was great to facilitate the meeting and enable many to put names with faces, build on relationships and share ideas for moving PTG into the future.

Our local community has been the recipient of some much needed moisture in the recent

North Dallas location. We opened with 40 technicians and averaged about $600K per month in Service sales. Since that time, our Service volume has grown approximately 250%. Our Parts sales averaged about $1.5 million per month. Parts sales are also up by a similar percentage.

June 2019 represents the 10-year anniversary of our South Dallas Dealership. On June 26, we celebrated with food, prizes and a NASCAR Pit Stop Challenge. We took time to reflect back on the ten-year history of our South Dallas Dealership. We are very thankful to all the team members that made this dream a reality.

We are also very grateful to the team at

CENTRAL REGION CENTRAL REGION (continued from page 2)

North Dallas that have spent ten years building a very successful dealership. It would have been easy to exit this business and operate as a single point in the Dallas market. Today, we also have a successful full service dealership in North Dallas and it is thriving.

I am very excited as we look forward to the next ten years. We have strong dealerships throughout the entire Central Region. Our employees are the best in the business. Freightliner has the best product they have had in years and Western Star will be coming out with new models. We are investing in technology to help us operate more efficiently. We are positioned to capitalize on the 40% DTNA market share.

Thank you for all you do each day to make Premier Truck Group a great company.

Chattanooga’s Parts Department broke the $2 million dollar threshold last month. Congratulations to the whole team!

I know Darel and I are excited to read the results of our second ever Employee Survey. To quote the PTG mission statement, “We want to provide superior customer satisfaction through a culture of continuous improvement.” The survey is a road map to what our teams need to be successful and continue to grow, which in turn benefits our customers. We must take care of the people who take care of our customers. Our Employee Engagement Committees are ready to start meeting and making sure we do what we can to make our people successful. We know there’s work to be done, and great things to come from those efforts.  Thank you to everyone for helping make the East and PTG what it is today.

weeks. The prospect of improved grades and yields for our farm and ranch industries is looking good. The oil and gas industries continue to thrive. We will press onward in an effort to meet or exceed the expectations of everyone involved in our communities!
