M A I N A T T R A C T I O N SMain AttractionsWhat main films will play at the County? This section lists the Main At-tractions that we intend to play in the coming weeks. This list is only an edu-cated guess, though, since film release plans often change. (Additional unlisted films will also become available.)

Scheduling our Main Attractions is week-to-week. On Monday, we decide what main films will play starting that Friday. On Tuesday and Wednesday, we set the showtimes for the upcoming week and then update our website and telephone hotline. We also send out a weekly email (which you can receive by signing up at our website). Sometimes, we book a main film a few weeks in advance, which we post on our website’s “Coming Attrac-tions” section.

For our latest Main Attractions plans, visit: CountyTheater.org (Or call our hotline at 215 345 6789.) La La Land

Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone star as a jazz pianist and a struggling actress who meet and fall in love, set to the original compositions of Justin Hurwitz. This wonderful film is overflowing with Hollywood magic. It is a joyous marvel.

Lion Australia - Garth Davis - 2 hrA young Indian boy becomes lost in the busy streets of Calcutta, separated from his family. He is then adopted by an Australian couple. Years later, he is determined to find his relatives. This crowd-pleasing drama is emotional and fulfilling. Starring Dev Patel and Sunny Pawar. Also with Rooney Mara and Nicole Kidman.

Paterson

Julieta Spain - Pedro Almodovar - 1 hr 39 min w/ subtitlesRenowned auteur Almodovar returns with his most praised film in years. JULIETA is the story of a middle aged woman who discovers that her estranged daughter, who disappeared years ago, has returned home to Madrid. Told through flashback, Almodovar weaves through Julieta’s memories and mistakes that have led her to this point. Based on the stories of Nobel Prize winner Alice Munro.

Toni Erdmann Germany - Maren Ade - 2 hr 42 min w/ subtitlesThis German comedy has taken the art film world by storm. A young woman lives a busy corporate life and doesn’t have time for family. Her father then invades her business life by donning a disguise and creating an eccentric char-acter who pretends to be a business investor. Blending laugh-out-loud ab-surdity and earnest, awkward compas-sion, TONI ERDMANN is an audacious cinematic ride.

Paterson USA - Jim Jarmusch - 1 hr 57 minLegendary director Jim Jarmusch has made one of his best films with this simple, meditative story. In Paterson, NJ, a bus driver writes a poem every morning before he embarks on his route. This is masterful filmmaking with a subtle and compelling performance from Adam Driver.
