Presider: Fr. Jim DeBruycker Pre-Mass Speaker: On this first Sunday of religious education classes and Family Mass, we welcome Kelley Deshler, SJA youth ministry staff mem- ber, who will speak to us about Radical Welcome. Kelley is a wonderful gift to our community and we are grateful to her for being with us this morning and for being with our youth! For anyone calling the SJA Parish Center, the first "voice of welcome" is often that of JP Fitzgibbons, reception- ist, teacher, actor, singer, theology stu- dent and today, our guest soloist at the Gym liturgies. Thank you for joining our music ministry today JP and welcome! Consider Carpooling or Riding the City Bus to Church: Go to metrotransit.org for more information. Thank you! We are Paul and Lynn Hempe, co-chairs of Cabaret 2015 and we are grateful to Father DeBruycker for letting us use his Pastor’s 2 Cents space to tell you about this year’s Cabaret. Our committee has planned some exciting changes to this amazingly successful St. Joan of Arc Catholic Community musical fund raiser. Cabaret weekend is November 6, 7 and 8. Our theme this year is Cabaret 2015 – The Food Show. It will be under the musical direction of George Mauer and Tommy Barbarella, and Dan Chouinard will be returning from shooting a film in Italy in time to be part of all the shows. We have heard in the past that “…it’s a great show but it lasts too long!” With that in mind, we met with the musical directors and came up with something new: the performer lineup is going to be shortened each night. Some performers will be with us only on Friday and others only on Saturday. A limited few will do both nights. You can find the list of performers for each evening available on the SJA Web site (www.stjoan.com). Since we are calling this year’s Cabaret “The Food Show - a Groovable Feast, we’re going to provide you with a delicious light meal and fun desserts; no one will go away hungry. Tickets for Cabaret table seating will go on sale Saturday, September 26, at 11 am in the Gym. This year all seats, except sponsor tables, are $75. Over the years people have asked if we could do a Sunday show and maybe make those tickets “just a little less expensive”. Okay, we heard you, so here’s the really big news – we are going to add a show to Cabaret weekend! On Sunday, November 8, at 7 pm in the Gym, we are producing a special show called Cabaret 2015 - The Sunday Show. Because the Gym will be set up auditorium style (no tables) and the seats will be General Admission, the tickets will be offered at $30. Knowing George and Tommy, you can be assured it’s going to be a real musical event, and we'll even top it off with some special desserts. We are excited to be chairing Cabaret again this year. We were there for the first Cabaret in 1994 and loved being involved in those early years. We are proud of how Cabaret has become such an integral part of SJA and how much it has benefitted the ministries of our parish. We look forward to your being a part of Cabaret weekend. -Paul and Lynn Hempe
