I am thankful for my ability to provide services to my patients and am finding patients are also more grateful for my services in return. I hope that all of you are finding a new routine for providing exceptional patient care and are persevering and maybe even thriving. I also hope that everyone is finding ways to enjoy the wonderful Minnesota summer even without large event venues and the typical summer outings available. I am blessed to have a family cabin and our family has been spending more time than ever enjoying the lake and nature. The summer months for the St. Paul District are usually quiet but I wanted to let you know of things coming this fall when we resume our SPDDS Executive Council meetings. I know you have been hearing a lot about the strategic plan and I hope to move it forward. I am asking for anyone interested in a smaller role of participation with the district to let me know. We need some new ideas from all corners of the district to help shape the future direction of what we can offer our members. We will have three workgroups, one for each priority, that will meet a few times this upcoming year to dig deeper into these priorities. I would love for you to give a few hours of your time to work on these, so if you are up to the task please reach out to me at [email protected] or the district at [email protected]. The three priorities are: 1. Enrich continuing education opportunities 2. Create a new service

3. Improve communications

It also seems to be the year of running the district virtually. Our upcoming caucusfor the House of Delegates will be meeting virtually as well as the House ofDelegates and reference committees. I am truly hoping that we will be able to all bein-person and network again soon, but until it is safe, virtual it is. Speaking of virtual,as a reminder, the Star of the North Meeting is currently live with access to all thecourses and a pretty cool set up for the virtual exhibit hall. I encourage you all totake full advantage of this offering.

Sincerely,

Christina Van Guilder, DDSSPDDS President
