This year I set a range of objectives for our Club:

End the year with $5000 in our Trust Account

Increase membership from 41 to 43 members

Make a $3485 donation o the Rotary Foundation

Arrange an area meeting for all Clubs to hear about

changes being promoted by Rotary International

Achieve the Changemaker Club Award

Have fun along the way

So, how did we do?

We end the year with $4000 in our Trust Account

After achieving a high of 46 members in April, we end the year with 43

We made a donation of $3485 to the Foundation

We had just under 200 members attend ‘A new spin on Rotary’, some from Chch & the West Coast

We received the Changemaker Club Award

We had a lot of fun …

Movie nights

Italian Long Lunch Changeover

Club summit

Guess who’s coming to dinner

Christmas party

Indian night

We worked hard for the Community too this year.

July $1500 given to Books for Babies programme

September—Sponsored a table of Rest Home residents to Whenua show at the Theatre Royal

September/October—Supermarket fundraising for St John

September/October—Rugby World Cup litter clean-up

October—Raffle tickets sold for Nelson Hospice

December—$6254 cheque given to St John

January—Quiz night fundraiser for Mike Kennedy project $13,000 raised

January—Rotary Youth Leadership Award course. One candidate supported this year, and one for next year

February/March—Mike Kennedy project underway

March—Team of volunteers helped out with the Weetbix triathlon

March—Team of volunteers led by John Bethwaite assist with Rotary Youth Driving Awareness

May—Dictionaries in schools—87 delivered to Hampden St school

June—Team of volunteers assist with Founders

Book Fair

We wound up the year

with some awards and recognition:

Lynne Korcheski—awarded a Paul Harris fellow for her contribution to the Club over the last nine and a half years

Fred Coe— 1948-2012. Remembered with sadness and affection, and

a very special memorial trophy

Steve Kelso—the 2012 recipient of the Fred Coe Memorial trophy for

outstanding contribution by a Club member

This year we dispersed $25,150.92

St John $6,782.50

Our Trust $4,000.00

Books for Babies $1,500.00

Whenua Iti Concert $200.00

RI Foundation $3,485.00

Kennedy project $9,183.42

Thanks to the directors for their support and hard work throughout the year, and to all members for making these

projects so successful.
