The building is situated atop a granite rock overlooking the human-made Gota Dam.

The views and the drama of the granite cliff plunging into the dam are the inspiration for

the concept, where the feeling of living within the rock is balanced with the 180 degrees

views to the East, North and West.

10 11 White Horse Street is a challenging site in an extraordinary location. Located between

listed buildings on Shepherds Market, the Hilton Hotel on Half Moon Street, and the former

Naval & Military Club on Piccadilly Street, the site offers a building little more than 17%

of street frontage, the remainder of the building being on an inner site.

The site is out-of-the-ordinary in that requires an out-of-the-ordinary response. Its location

in the Mayfair Conservation Area makes it a prime location for a high-end residential

development.

the site situates it on the only sunny face of the valley, overlooking the Late

Gothic village church (1520) and a cemetery. The aspect also enjoys views of a

glacier and its dramaticwaterfalls.

Planning guidance dictated the size of the building (10 15m), the building height and

the pitch of the roof. Navigating through this very restrictive planning environment,

the optimum solution for the three chalets relatively unobstructed views was

achieved.

This project, in a conservation area, combines two twin terrace houses behind historic facades

to create one large family dwelling. The house is composed of one main body of three stories

to the street and a two-storey extension to the rear garden.

From the main entrance, a corridor leads to the open living room that faces onto the rear

garden (designed by us) with two bright conservatories each under a single 2.5 x 4 m pane of

glass. Large glass doors (2.2 x 2.4 m) swivel outward to make a continuous open space

between the living room, kitchen and garden terrace.

At the core of the building, a steel spiral staircase visually connects all three levels.

Light falls dramatically around the stair from a skylight above. The 3 x 2 m skylight opens

hydraulically to facilitate natural ventilation throughout the building.

renovation of a former post-sorting office into a 450 square metre private residence.

The original 1920s structural roof bracing and exterior London brick walls were preserved

and restored.

At the core of the project is a folded steel plate stair that connected to the wall only on

one side gives a sense of lightness and connects the house to its different levels.

Smoked oak wooden floors, combined with the original brick walls and an encompassing

structure of mild steel sets the tone for the buildings colour palette.

The design needed to comply with the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea regulations that

had the tendency to favour more traditional barge-like canal boat design.

This is expressed through the boats exterior form and proportions while in contrast, the

strikingly contemporary interior accommodates all the comforts of a typical London home.

The steel hull, steel superstructure, and zinc upper deck will be painted a bold royal

blue. The upper deck will be laid with teak on the outside and epoxy resin on the inside. This

deck is infused with light from skylights, side portals and two large French windows that face

out from the living room over the water. Long joist timber will clad the interior walls, while

epoxy resin extends from the upper deck through to the lower deck.

The Boksto 6 project is a 13,265 square metre mixed used development scheme in the

Old Town of Vilnius, the Capital City of Lithuania.

The site lies within the UNESCO designated World Heritage Site and has a history of building

developments stretching from the 15th century, which is encompassed in part by one of the

oldest street in Vilnius Old Town.

The concept combines restoring the Baroque and Gothic buildings to the original fabric.

The new build therefore confidently asserts itself in contemporary language that is derived

directly from its site and its context, in keeping with the natural evolution of the overall

complex through history.
