Our Mission: PASD creates
learning communities that prepare each
student to live, work, and learn
successfully in a changing world.
March 8, 2019 Port Angeles School District
Strategic Goal #1: Powerful Teaching & Learning
Mock Trial 2019
We had a great time and learned a
lot at the Clallam County
Courthouse on February 28
All in all, our juries
acquitted the defendants twice,
and found them guilty once.
Lives were saved at
Stevens Middle School!
Students did a great job and were
wonderful agents of Stevens and
PASD. I’m very proud of them!
Angie Gooding, ELA/History
Teacher, Stevens Middle School

Each Hamilton fourth grader chose a “notable” historic figure. They
spend almost a month researching their notable person. They wrote
a synopsis of the person’s life and then dressed as that person for
the presentation. Parents and family attended Night of the Notables
to see their students in costume and hear the presentations read
aloud. At the end of the presentations family had to guess who all of
the notable people were based on the information given. Once
everyone had written down their guesses the notable persons’
names were revealed and refreshments were served. This is Trent
Pomeroy’s 18th year to host this event. Some notables included:
Roald Dahl, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr., Sacagawea,
Picasso, Malalla, Benjamin Franklin, Walt Disney and more. (photo by Andrea Pietrafeso)
