Our two Diving Centres.Dieter Merz (Düde) from Switzerland is manag-ing both diving centres which are located directly on the beach of Pondok Sari Beach & Spa Resort and of its neighbouring Matahari Beach Resort & Spa. With his team of multilingual diving instruc-tors and dive masters he instructs following SSI, CMAS (International Aquanautic Club) and PADI standards.
Equipment and Service.Like all WERNER-LAU-diving centres, both dive centres in Pemuteran are specially equipped to cater for the all requirements and desires of divers.
Privately owned as well as hired equipment is kept in the diving centre and transported to the boats by members of our staff. Our staff also rinses the equipment in fresh water and stores it again in the diving centre after the trips.This comprehensive service allows our guests to enjoy their stay to the full.We do have 5 boats of our own. Local Diving.We offer a multitude of diving possibilities for every diver: Participation in the Coral Project involves shore diving and is particularly suit-able for check dives, introductory dives, refresher courses and OWD, and offers «fi sh satisfaction» from the fi rst dive. The Coral Project is also an excellent spot for night diving and has left quite a few macro-fans speechless with surprise.Local dive sites are located about 2000m away from shore. Starting at a depth of 4-5meters, they drop down to depths of 30 to 40 meters. Stun-ningly intact corals, a multitude of macro-life and occasionally big fi sh can be seen along with the usual «fi sh soup».

Menjangan is certainly one of the world’s top dive sites, offering steep walls which drop down to depth of 30-40 meters. The variety of coral and fi sh leaves nothing to be desired.
Secret Bay is the ultimate «macro heaven» underwater where critters, rarely found in other parts of the world, can be seen. House Reef Pondok Sari with its famous coral breeding project. There is a beautiful house reef directly in front of the diving centre. Shore dives, night dives and open water training dives can be easily done there.A section of our house reef is allotted to world’s biggest coral breeding project.Over a distance of more than 150 meters wire cages have been placed at a depth of about 5 meters.A minor electric current (approx. 6 - 8 volts) is running though the cages and results in the corals growing about 4 times faster than in other areas. The electric current is harmless even if the wires are touched. It is interesting to watch single and shoaling fi shes seeking shelter in the coral cages. But also the other parts of the house reef offer
interesting discoveries and fans of macro photog-raphy will be delighted.
Boat Trips.The local dive sites in front of Pemuteran can be reached by boat within 10 to 20 minutes.Departure for the local dive sites take place daily at 09:30 h and 14:00 h (single tank dives); return is between 11:00 h and 11:30 h, and at about 16:00 h, respectively.
Furthermore, we offer regular boat trips to the legendary dive sites in front of Menjangan Isand, where 2 dives are done. Departure time is 09:00 h and the trips return at about 14:00 h (weather dependent). The duration of the boat journey is between 30 and 50 minutes (depending on the weather).
For dives at Secret Bay our divers travel by car. The transfer takes about 35 minutes and where 2 tank are done there. The departure time is variable since the dives have to be planned according to the tidal changes.
