PLBRA Annual Meeting The 27 th Annual Meeting of the Park LaBrea Residents Association (PLBRA) will be held on Sunday, January 11 th 2015 at 12 Noon in the PLB Activity Center Theater. Our Community Organization was founded to give Park La Brea residents a Collective Voice in dealing with Park La Brea Management and this is still our primary mission today. “Advocating for the Residents” is our business and our accomplishments over the years are now history. At the Annual Meeting we will outline our plans for the coming year, review our financial position and elect a new Board of Directors to lead the Association’s efforts throughout 2015. If you wish to vote for candidates for the Board of Directors or become a candidate yourself there are a few mandatory requirements. FIRST You must be listed by name on a Park La Brea Lease Contract. SECOND You must be a 2015 Dues Paid PLBRA member. (A 2015 PLBRA Membership Coupon can be found on page 2 of this Newsletter) THIRD At the Annual Meeting candidates nominated from the floor must be ready to make a one minute presentation about their qualifications and the focus they will bring to the Board. “Hollywood Costume” at the Iconic Wilshire May Company Building (Wilshire Blvd & Fairfax Ave) on view thru 03/02/2015

By Carol RobinsThe Academy’s presentation includes more than 150 costumes in this landmark show, including entries from Dallas Buyers Club, The Hunger Games, Django Unchanged, The Butler, American Hustle, Mary Poppins, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Coming to America, The Great Gatsby and Charlie Chaplin movies. In addition, this exhibit will showcase the Academy’s pair of the most famous shoes in the world from The Wizard of OZ shown with Dorothy’s blue and white gingham dress.

The exhibition is the culmination of a five - year effort to identify and secure objects from all over the world. The collectors who have loaned to the exhibition include major motion picture studios, costume houses, actors, public museums and archives as well as private individuals.
