Pixel2Canvas was started in 2006 by Curtis and Roxanne Benton. Not happy with the daily 9 to 5 grind working for someone else, Curt came home with the idea of a canvas company that actually CARED about their customers. Treating others the way you would want to be treated. Quite a concept.

So - marrying Curt’s photography background and Roxanne’s corporate commercial graphic arts background, Pixel2Canvas was born.

Printing images on canvas is amazing. It gives a tactile, larger than life feel to any image. Clients love seeing their family memories on such a large scale - whether it’s a wall gallery or even one 20x24.

Our canvases are archival - OBA free, wate resistant and lightfast in order to ensure they will last for generations.

While Pixel2Canvas offers many innovative products, our speciality is canvas printing. We offer you a choice of two canvas medias, two protective finishes, and three frame depths to expand your artistic freedom.

Legacy CanvasOur premier canvas. A bit more texture to enjoy, yet not too much to distract.

Luxe CanvasA smoother alternative, while still retaining the look of canvas.

Satin CoatingOur standard finish on all our prints is the Satin finish. It leaves a touch of gloss while ensuring that your colors and detail are preserved. All our finishes can be cleaned with a damp cloth and provide a strong UV protective layer to ensure color stability for generations.

Matte CoatingThink dry. Think flat. Sometimes you want no sheen or gloss at all. For those times, we offer a Matte Finish which provides the same level of protection from the elements as our Satin finish, but has no sheen.

Canvas |

We offer three depths of canvas, in nearly any custom size. Need a ten foot canvas? Not a problem. With our Dynamic Pricing Engine, you can enter any custom size and immediately get your canvas ordered.

Standard Wrap - 3/4”The Standard Wrap canvas is quite versatile. Sometimes called the EuroWrap for its slim like look, we treat it just the same as our normal gallery wrap, with the canvas stretched over the edge, back stapled and closed with Tyvec. This thinner wrap also allows you the option to frame the canvas if you so choose.

Gallery Wrap - 1.5”Your canvas is lovingly printed, coated and stretched over our custom built 1.5 inch deep frame. This is the perfect setup for today’s cleaner frameless looks. Each canvas is checked to ensure top quality, backed with Tyvek and then finished with size appropriate hanging hardware. You can’t go wrong.

Extra Deep - 2.5”When you really want to make a statement, the EXTRA Deep Gallery Wrap is the way to go. Standing out 2.5 inches from the wall, the Extra Deep frame is terrific for the central focal point of any room. It also works well as part of a collection of images or other gallery wrapped artwork.

Metals |You will be amazed at the stunning clarity and uniqueness of our Aluminum Panels.

These are not metallic prints - utilizing the best possible sublimation inks and equipment, we transfer your images onto sheer or gloss white coated aluminum panels in a selection of sizes. The result will amaze both you and your clients. Each piece is individually inspected and created with the utmost care by our metal specialist. (Metal - not mental)

These incredible panels come in four flavors: Sheer Gloss, Sheer Satin, White Gloss and White Satin. The Sheer panels allow the sheen of the metal to shine through your image - giving it a whole new look. The White panels show no metal through your image - just the most crisp, clear, stunning print you’ve ever seen.

You can mount your panels on a wall or stand them with a desk easel or our custom Ice Blocks Stands. We invented them - you can’t get them anywhere else.

Our unique Frosted Frame option

Oh - by the way. We won the PPA Hot One Award for our Metal Panels with Ice Block Stand. We’re not the only ones who think they’re pretty nifty.

ChromaLuxe Panels |

Just like the Metal Panels, you will be amazed at the stunning clarity and uniqueness of our ChromaLuxe Panels.

They have the same high-gloss luster and sharpness of the Metal Panels. They are 5/8” deep, and have a black border. The backs have two keyhole hangers routed in them, so they can easily be hung vertically or horizontally.

Our Storyboard size (10x20) is perfect for the senior market.

GeoMetrix Canvas |

Once again, we don’t just think out of the box - we blow it to smithereens.

For your viewing and designing pleasure we offer you our GeoMetrix canvas line!

They come in sizes from 8” x 8” to 16” x 16”.

These Hex Shaped Canvas Prints make designing a wall grouping fun and easy. Your customers will have never seen anything like it anywhere.

Because of the flexibility in design, these pieces can be grouped vertically, horizontally, or in organic designs that will fit any wall area. Templates are available for download on the Pixel2Canvas site.

Sassafrass Backdrop Mouldings |

Here’s another one of our bright ideas. The Sassafrass Magnetic Backdrop Moulding.

With our magnetic moulding, you don’t have to worry about clamping. Simply place your moulding on the front of your backdrop and place the metal attachment piece on the back of your backdrop and it instantly snaps into place with the use of magnets.

Constructed of wood moulding that has a magnet on the back covered by felt so you do not risk scratching or damaging your backdrop. The metal piece that goes on the back of the backdrop has feet attached so your moulding stands straight up.

And, most importantly, our canvas is ALWAYS OBA-Free. It’s not good for the earth OR your canvas.

Why Your Canvas Needs To Be OBA Free |Optical Brightener Additives (OBAs): These are artificial brightening agents commonly used in many inkjet substrates to make them appear ‘brighter’ or whiter than they actually are. According to the most recognized inkjet print permanence testing organization, the Wilhelm Research Institute, OBAs should be avoided because they compromise the longevity of fine art prints by causing yellowing, and by causing the colors of a print to appear different under differing lighting conditions.

Color management guru David Coons of Artscans explains the difficulties in using OBAs:

‘Our main problems with OBAs are with reproducing original art with bright or pastel yellows. Since typical OBA coated media doesn’t reflect warmer wavelengths as strongly as conventional natural white watercolor papers, it’s often impossible to accurately reproduce many warm pastel colors such as light yellow.”

Optical brighteners create an appearance of ‘brightness’ by inducing blue fluorescence in the presence of UV-rich light sources such as sunlight, metal halide, and fluorescent lamps. Papers coated with these brighteners tend to fight yellow inks in particular because of their bluish cast. Color management systems can help preserve relative color differences, but will never be able to overcome these physical limitations.

Canvas that has OBAs is a cheaper product. How can you tell if your canvas has OBAs? Take it into a dark room with a black light. If it lights up like a carnival fun house, you’ve got yourself some OBAs.

That’s one reason why other companies can offer canvas at a significantly lower cost. It will also degrade, fade and crack in just a few years. We have never, and will never, use canvas or papers with OBAs. Sure, it costs a bit more, but our dedication to quality and representing YOU well to your customers is paramount.
