Top Ten Attendance Award: The Lake County Regional Office of Education has recognized Park School Campus for being one of the top ten schools in the county for attendance during Fall Attendance Week. Several students and staff will be on hand next month to accept the award.

Yearbooks: On-line Yearbook ordering information in now on our school website. We are encouraging as many parents as possible to use the on-line ordering feature as it will allow us to better track student orders. Yearbooks will be $16 per copy until December 18, 2011. K-4 Grade Recess Reminder: As the weather gets colder, please make sure your children have: hats, gloves, snow pants, boots, and winter coats. As weather permits, we will have outdoor recess. The blacktop provides an area for students to play that are not dressed for the snow. We will be outside for recess unless the wind chill drops below zero degrees. iPod Donation Program: Park Campus is asking for used iPods to be donated for student academic use. We are happy to accept any model iPod in any condition. Simply bring the iPod to the main office and receive a donation letter for tax purposes. Attention 8th Grade Parents: Grayslake Central High School will be hosting an Orientation for the Class of 2016 on Wednesday, January 11, at 6:30pm at Grayslake Central High School. All entering freshman and their families are encouraged to attend. The following Tuesday, January 17, counselors from GCHS will be at Park Campus to complete the course selection process. Students will be given an appointment time in their orientation packet. Parents are welcome to join their child(ren) at this meeting with their future guidance counselor. Please note that meeting times are scheduled by the high school and cannot be adjusted.

New to the Park Campus PBIS Program

Check In Check Out is coming to Park Campus! In January, the Check In Check Out program is arriving at Park Campus! As an additional support system for children who are struggling behaviorally and academically, Check In Check Out, or CICO, will help children to improve their school performance. It is an additional support as part of our PBIS program. Check in Check out is a positive way for staff to greet and reinforce students for behaving according to the school-wide behavioral expectations as they go through their day. Each student who is invited to join check in check out will be paired up with a staff member who will be their “go to” person both in the morning and in the afternoon right before they leave. The student will carry around a PAWS (Positive Action with Support) sheet and have it filled out by their teachers throughout the day as a way to self-monitor their behavior. Check in Check out is a positive way to greet and reinforce students for behaving according to the school-wide behavioral expectations as they go through their day!
