RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION
The 2019-20 Religious Ed registration form for grades K-10 can
be found on the homepage of our website:
www.materchristireligioused.com. Please return it to the Religious
Ed Office ASAP via email or postal mail. If you have any ques-
tions please contact Mrs. McSparron at [email protected] or
at 489-3204 ext 5.
MEN’S FALL PROGRAM: GOD’S KNIGHTS
As the parish men's group begins a new series of Eucharistic holy
hours, we invite you to come for a time of Eucharistic adoration
and reflection on the virtues of the Christian knight. Come reflect
on what it means to be a member of the Church Militant and a
soldier of God. Every month we will reflect on and learn about
one particular virtue necessary for the Catholic man. Join us for
a time of adoration, prayer, discussion, and fellowship. Questions
or information? Call/email/text: [email protected] or
646-600-1869.

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP
The next two meetings of the Mater Christi Spousal Support
Group, for those who have lost a spouse or significant other, will
take place on Wednesday, September 11, and Wednesday,
September 25, at 6:00 pm in the Parish Center Room A. Meet-
ings are every second and fourth Wednesday of the month.
Questions? Contact Mary Sgambellone at (518) 439-0915.
MUSIC MINISTRY NEWS

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Eugene Lori-
ni, Tim Reno and Christine Szczepanek for playing at masses,
directing our adult and youth choirs and generally keeping our
music program running during the past year. We are so
blessed to have had your expert assistance!
We are pleased to announce that Rose Kolbe May has joined
the Parish of Mater Christi as our new Music
Director beginning the weekend of Sept.
1
st
. Rose has a degree in Sacred Music from
the Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH,
and has served as the organist and choir direc-
tor at a parish in Steubenville for the past two
years. Please give Rose a warm welcome!
NEW SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
We are delighted to welcome Sr. Deborah Timmis, CSJ, as
the new Principal of Mater Christi School. Sister Debbie’s ca-
reer as a teacher and educator has been her
vocation as a Sister of St. Joseph of Caron-
delet. She spent over fifteen years at St.
Mary’s School in Ballston Spa and five years
at Blessed Sacrament School in Albany, as
well as time at St. Madeleine Sophie School
in Schenectady, both as a teacher and tech-
nology specialist. Last year, Sr. Debbie
served as the Assistant Principal at Mater Christi School while
teaching three technology classes here. On July 1st, she took
over as Principal for Theresa Ewell, who retired after 30 years
of service. We hope Terry is enjoying her well-deserved free
time!

ARE YOU A SNOWBIRD?
Do you go away in the fall or winter for a portion
of the year? If so, please let us know the dates
you will be leaving town and returning so we can
put a temporary hold on your contribution enve-
lopes. An even better solution would be to con-
vert to online donations! When envelopes are mailed to someone
who is “temporarily away,” they are returned to our parish office
with postage due. Please help us avoid this extra cost by contact-
ing our office at (518) 489-3204 or [email protected]
