ABC, EASY AS 123! Our Music
Director, Rose, and volunteers,
Dorothy Halloran and Mary Ellen
White, alphabetized approximately
375 individual pieces of music in the
music library. That's just one part of
the back music room they have
been organizing—they've also
worked through a file cabinet, 3
other shelves, and multiple storage boxes. A continuing project is the
creation of an excel database of all the music available. Thank you!

STEM IN PRE-KINDERGARTEN: What is STEM? And why is it
so important for young learns? STEM stands for Science, Technolo-
gy, Engineering, and Math. STEM education is very important for
young learners because it helps them acquire important skills such as
critical thinking, analyzing information, and inductive reasoning. The
hands-on nature of STEM activities help young learners develop an
early interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. All of
this leads to an overall interest in inquiry and love for learning!
In Pre-K at MCS, we had a challenge of building a new wall for
Humpty Dumpty so that he won’t fall off! STEM projects usually begin
with a problem and then a question of, “how are we going to solve
this?” The problem we were faced with was that Humpty Dumpty
keeps falling off his wall! What can we do to build a wall that Humpty
Dumpty can stay on that wall?
The students used wooden blocks to build their walls. Then they were
given an egg to balance on the top of their wall. Students worked as
teams to create their very own wall. They did a wonderful job!
MARCH MAGIC: March is here and our annual March Magic Fund-
raiser is well underway! Look for the winners posted on our website
each day. Thank you all for your efforts at selling as many tickets as
possible. It is still not too late to enter! Tickets will be accepted
throughout the month of March and winning tickets will go back in the
raffle drum to have a chance to win again! Additional tickets are
available in the school office and Church gathering area. The cost of
a ticket is $10.00. This fundraiser is one of our most popular ones due
to the variety of donated gift certificates and cash prizes awarded
each day. Thank you for your support - Good luck!
SWINGIN' SPRING FLING
SAVE THE DATE: Make sure to mark May 9th on your calen-
dars! The Swingin' Spring Fling Celebration will be a fantastic night
out with dinner, dancing, a cool mirror photo booth, and awesome live
and silent auction items.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THE EVENT A SUCCESS! We
have a small (but mighty) core group of 5 MCS parents who are on
this year's Spring Fling planning committee. In order to make the
event a success, we will need additional MS parents and parishioners
to join the team. Right now, we are looking for those who can help
secure live and silent auction items and help with planning check-out
processes. We also need volunteers who can help assist with day-of
coordination during the event. Please email Kate Hogan
at [email protected] to see how your talents and time can be
used to support this important school fundraising event. Thank you!
