The Renaissance Preparatory School for Boys and Girls Affiliated to the School of Philosophy Trinidad and The St James Independent Schools London. Monday 22 nd May 2019 Dear Parents/ Guardians, We are now in the third week of our final term for the academic year 2018-2019. We would certainly welcome all the new students joining Renaissance this term, I do hope that they will enjoy their time with us. This being a very short term we started with evaluations at all levels. The intent of this was to get a sense of where the children were in their understanding of the various topics. Among several benefits, this information provided a clearer picture for the teacher in her planning, approach, clarity and level of difficulty of work. Additional to this, we are also using a standardized approach in setting and marking the evaluations. Therefore yours child’s test papers may be reviewed, administered and marked by more than one teacher in addition to the class teacher. As I indicated at our last parent evening we were looking at changing our online reporting system. Currently we are in the process of reviewing this change and expect to be completed with the upgrade before the end of this term. I will share more details of this at the next parent evening. Attached to this letter is the calendar of event for this term. Please note that our next parent evening is scheduled for this Friday 24 th May at 4:30pm. Also note the dates for the mid term break. The dates may seem a bit unusual however this was done to incorporate the two holidays. Also note the removal of the midyear concert, we will have our end of year production in December are planned. For the parents of Year 4, Mrs. Clifton unfortunately had to take a short sick leave and will not be available on Friday. Therefore the parents of year 4 only are not required to be here on Friday. On Monday next we will confirm the date and time for your meeting. Looking forward to working with you this term. Best wishes, Mr. Debie
